Since it looks like MSG is gone for good will I see a reduction in my bill?
Last months bill.
America's Top 250 $64.99
DVR Service $6.00
Monthly Charge $70.99

why would you get a reduction on your bill because a RSN isn't there?

Folks in San Diego and Philly dont get reductions on their bill for no RSN (the stations are cable only and not on either sat system)

With MSG gone, not only do we not get the NY Rangers and NY Knicks, which play at Madison Square Garden (hence the initials), but also the NY Islanders, NJ Devils and NJ Nets, which were carried by MSG+, or MSG2. I complained until I was blue in the face, and Dish gave me $10 off my bill for the next 12 months. I'd still rather have my hockey games. Strike that, I'd still rather have my Rangers games. The way the Islanders are playing this year, Dish could probably make money by threatening to show the games unless paid not to.

Why whine about it. The games were only SD on dish anyways. Dish does not want to pay fees for NY Sports teams.

Nets are on YES, Dish don't carry that one either.

Some people have complained about it and have gotten limited-time discounts. I need to do the same at some point since I am in a contract and I would lose money to go TWC or DirecTv.

I personally know of 1 person who just switched from DISH to FIOS, called DISH to cancel and was given a whole bunch of incentives to stay (including free Center Ice, Starz and bill discounts). All she wanted was MSG and the Sabres games and as a crazy hockey fan, that was important to her......since DISH could no longer provide it, she left after 13 years despite all their efforts to keep her.

Maybe that message will get through to the powers that be at DISH.

dish doesnt want to carry fuse

I read something about this today in a copy of Satellite Business News I got in the mail yesterday. Its not just Fuse but looks like they won't give DISH access to MSG+ which shows many of the rangers and Knicks games, so if hey had just MSG many of the games would be missing.

They also blacked out the Rangers game on Versus last night.

they had MSG+ already..they didnt have the HD versions

read your contract!
Been with Dish since July of 1997. I don't remember signing a contract. I had the basic package and upgraded back when ESPN stopped covering hockey. I have now read the customer agreement and understand that they can add or drop channels.

I left dish three weeks ago for Directv just so I could watch the Buffalo Sabres, in HD. I had been with dish since 1998, but they weren't giving me what I wanted. It's a personal choice, but for me, I wanted the ability to watch my hockey team, that was the only factor for me.

It seems that dish is taking the path of not providing RSNs when contract troubles arise. There are many people that don't care if they get their sports teams on dish, which is just fine. Directv carries a lot more sports than dish. I see that trend continuing, perhaps in the future the choice will be Directv for sports, dish for non-sports. I'm happy so far, and I don't really miss dish and their Charlie cheap operation.

Sometimes, the grass really is greener, especially when it is in HD!!

That's already happened. Sometimes Charlie gives lip service to sports on Dish like when he had the full page ads for NFL red zone. But he doesn't follow through with RSN's -- he has already conceded sports to Direct...

MSG+ has generally carried only Islanders and Devils games. Knicks and Rangers are more often than not on MSG which is it's own channel. Maybe if Knicks and Rangers are on at same time, then one goes to MSG+.

In Buffalo on TWC, if there is a Sabres game and a Knicks game (Knicks have claimed Buffalo as their territory in the NBA) on at the same time on MSG, the Sabres game gets the MSG slot and the Knicks get moved to Ch. 13 which is Time Warner sports.

In Buffalo on DISH, Sabres would get an ALT Sports channel and Knicks would get the regular MSG slot.

In any case, I guess it will take Hell to freeze over before MSG comes back to DISH.

One interesting thing to note......FIOS in Buffalo offers a base package for $13/month that includes all locals, a couple of specialty channels, MSG, MSG+, SNY and YES. Not a bad deal.
