DISH Network Retailer Chat Recap - "Hopper Special" - 2/16/2012

Welcome to another SatelliteGuys almost live recap of a DISH Network retailer chat... this one we are really looking forward to... in fact I can't remember another time where there was so much excitement in the air about a DISH Retailer Chat.

We are hearing that the focus of todays show will be on the Hopper and Joey, DISH's new Flagship receivers. (If you haven't heard of Hopper or Joey yet then you must be new here at SatelliteGuys... welcome!)

The chat will begin at noon and we will be monitoring it reporting back any items of interest to you the consumer as it happens. As always we do not discuss things like retailer costs or profits.

This thread will be locked until the chat begins and we post our first info from the chat. Then after the first reports are posted the thread will be opened up for your thought and comments.

We open up with the Hopper logo jumping around the screen, then video of Joe introducing the Hopper at CES.

Showing a demo video of what the Hopper is and how it works.

They keep pushing the More Music, More Movies More Magic theme in this video. (This is the same video that was shown at CES)

And we are now welcomed by Amir and Brian. Looks like they got a new slick looking set.

The Hopper will launch on... March 15th! (Its official!)

Most of todays show will be dedicated to Hopper,

Then some Marketing, Training, Retailer Services, Team Summit Talk and more...

They then go and talk about Primetime Anytime on the Hopper.

Primetime Anytime only works in areas where HD locals are available via satellite.

They say that 8 days storage of Primetime Anytime shows is important because viewers can view 2 episodes of any show.

250 hours of HD recording. Its the fastest processor in any video set top box made today. Talk about DISH Unplugged which will download shows and movies downloaded to the hard drive via satellite giving people without broadband true on demand without needing broadband.
