2013 MLB Postseason

Talking coulda, shoulda, woulda, but unless Napoli is physically unable to play catcher anymore, then they should have played him some games at catcher during the regular season so that he would have been ready to play that position in situations like this,Red Sox playing in St. Louis(NL ball park).

Napoli was nursing a seriously sore foot in September, so that may have further dissuaded them from breaking him back into the catcher position.

I'm concerned with Buchholz's stuff, or lack thereof. He has gotten a few swinging strikes that are probably attributable ton the batters never having seen him before, but if he stays below 90 MPH, he is going to get "solved", and his control isn't that sharp, so when ST. Louis gets some hits, they may be with men on base.

In the last couple of weeks, Drew's hitting slump has seemingly cost himself maybe ten million dollars or more on his free agency contract. He had hirrid left/right splits this year, the worst of his career, but he hit really well over the last two months of the season before tailing off brutally in the playoffs.

I hate to say it but the Cardinals are more talented than the Red So:mad:for sure has more "superstars"),but the Sox do have heart & have been playing above their talent & except for those 2 gaffes at 3rd base, could easily be up 3 games to 0 for the Cards. There were games when the Sox beat the Tigers in the ALCS that I was scratching my head & asking,"How did they do that?"

Ellsbury with the error, after the Busch Stadium grass obstructed with the baseball....1-0 Cardinals

The Red Sox were criticized for not spending like the Red Sox in the off-season. Gomes, Carp, Nava, Saltalamacchia and Ross were all expected to contribute more than the Red Sox of yore ordinarily count on scrub players to contribute, and Drew, Victorino and Napoli were reclamation projects that all paid off. Boston fans like to credit "chemistry" for their success, but if they lose this World Series, they will blame the mediocre talent of half of their starting position players.

Apparently you're not aware of Napoli's hip condition that caused the change in contract offered....

Talent wise, this has to be one of the weakest teams ever that the Red Sox has taken to the World Series.

Talent-wise, the Red Sox teams of the late 1970s, with six clean-up hitters in their lineup, never made it to the playoffs.

Yeah ok, that wasn't an intentional walk to Ortiz (not that I blame the Cardinals for doing that).

IF the Cards are as Great as your making them out to be, why did it take till the end of the season for them to finally pull away in the NL Central ?
They only won by 3 games.
