all i have to say is if there is a price increase they better have gotten an agreement with cinemax/hbo. i refuse to pay $3 more a month for the everything pak and lose cinemax in the process. That to me is absolutely ridiculous. I actually think some of this may come from the nfl network. Many Many cable systems refuse to have that channel due to its price. but who knows maybe lifetime really screwed them earlier in the year. if i get to keep cinemax then id be ok with the increase but one would hope they add a few more good channels this years and not those damn shopping channels. God i hope they dont say there dropping cinemax im gonna be pissed.

well hell if there gonna raise prices like that they should at least make it worth are while and add tvone or yes network. what happen to we cannot add these channels because prices would go up, prices are goin up anyway so add the damn channels.

Just in case you are all wondering about how Dish has raised their prices over the years CLICK HERE

For the record, doing a quick count on the Dish Channel Chart:

AT60 currently has about 90 channels
AT120 currently has about 225 channels
AT180 currently has about 280 channels.

Yes this includes ANYTHING that could remotely be called a "channel" and some duplicate channel numbers that have the same channel.

See ya
Tony

Cable going up too

Where I live, Time Warner is raising their rates by 5% for their expanded basic cable to around $54 a month. And that's no digital, no DVR, no on screen guide.

If Dish goes to $42.99, I get locals, DVR and on-screen guide for about $1 less than what Time Warner is offering for nothing more than just channels.

I hope that in this move by DISH, they would move Versus/OLN to Top 200 to bring it in line with DirecTV.

Dish On Line-

The price increases would be OK with me if they also included for free the new Dish On Line service so I we could get HBO /Showtime on Demand (if we already subscribed to it) and the normal cost for movie down loads.

In other words, no extra service fee to be able to use Dish On Line.

Comcast is increasing the Digital Packages 6% here in the Bay Area. Let's see, my package is at $49.99 with Dish Network so 6% would be $2.9994. Yep, there's a new pig in town and it's called Dish Network.

I wish DISH would put the Science Channel in the Silver package.

That is the only reason we have the Gold package. :(

And those of us in Virginia geta new tax on January 1. There goes the raise.

I have the platinum pack... I will seriously have to consider my options if they raise the price by 8 dollars a month... (hundred bucks a year)...

I will patiently wait for their announcement before I start griping though...
But as some have said, from a marketing standpoint the $99 price is very attractive from a marketing standpoint. For under $100 you get it all....

"...but that may just be me..."

Yes, it is just you. At our secret meetings we decided to "Get Stone." ;)
