I live in Juneau, Alaska. I've had Dish Network for about 7 years. Since I can't get Dish 500 in Juneau, I have two satellites, one a 119 and the other a 110. I'm told that now I can get HD programming. I have a normal DVR receiver, and I saw on the Dish site that there is a free upgrade to a ViP622 HD DVR receiver when you subscribe to HD programming. I currently have the top 250. Am I eligible for a free upgrade to the HD DVR receiver?

Sorry, no. For new customers only. However, you can get a 622 for $99.00 (149-50 rebate).

I just did this - You can get 2 rebates

Right now with Dish'n'it'up promo exisiting customers that have been with dish for a year or longer can upgrade to a 622 for ($150 self install or 179 installed). You also get a $50 rebate back. I didn't have a Dish 1000 so I had to pay for the install.

ALso if you are upgrading to HD for the first time you are elgible (until May) for a $10 rebate for 10 months = $100.

Here is the rebate form for both of these:

Both rebates are on one form but you have to wait for your first bill that shows the new hd programming

I got my 622 upgrade with a Dish 1000 for $149.95, and the $50 rebate, plus the $10 a month for 10 months off, which means free upgrade after 10 months in my book... Installation was included with mine.

just hang in there longer w them on the phone , I was able to get my 2nd 622 free outright plus 3mths free hbo.
i basically told them i rather cancel & pay the penalty now(7mths left - $83) & switch to other service.
& make sure u also sign up for dvr advantage & save an extra 3 bucks per mth :D
