First Look: Dish 942 HD/SD Receiver (Updated 1/24/05)

Here's a thought: Maybe the 942 isn't a step up or down... maybe sideways. From the 921 perspective the 942 is really stupid by not boasting the improvement WE are looking for. But from the perspective of Bob and Sally Anyperson, who might be thinking of signing up with an 811 in the living...

Dou you need a superdish to get a 811?

Fine, every one wants to pick on me.... i spose every time i drive down to IL to install a 921 i wind up doing a 500 upgrade also. i figured that would apply to 811's also. maybe its all coincidence. personally, i'd rather deal strictly with superdishes- but i gotta go where the route takes...

Can a SATHAWK or BIRDDOG run thru a switch?

Hmmm... I s'pose you missed my point, but since you don't know me yet I'll address your 'concerns'. 1) Yes, I know the difference. It's easier to say and type 'messenger' than 'attached ground wire'; and you proved that you understood what i meant. 2) Yes, I've installed Superdishes; I've...

Can a SATHAWK or BIRDDOG run thru a switch?

hey guys... here's a thought.... the DP34 isn't UL rated or even UL listed! The Dish Network seminars I've attended have driven home the message that they don't want the switches -ANY SWITCHES- grounded at all. meaning simply there needs to be a ground block between the LNBF and the switch...
