The Hopper Plus never updated on it's own from experience, I always had to check for updates from the Hopper Plus's Device Preferences in order to update. It still does not use the downloaded ATV files. The Hopper 3 does auto update but it's still slower than manually doing it.

Yes, downloading is possible with Settings -> Diagnostics -> Tools under the Receiver section -> Technician Settings -> Download ATV Files but how does one actually install the downloaded files is the question.

I am glad the display format is brought back... and PIP too... as PIP is the beginning where there is a chance the Side by Side and Multi-View may eventually come back in the not too distant future...

On the Hopper, in Diagnostics, the same page where it shows the current version of software, there is a Joey section and that should show you what's the current version available.

No idea, it should be similar since I only have a Hopper 3 and Hopper Plus, perhaps someone else who has the Joey4 and Wireless Joey4 can comment on how to do it.

I have a question I have been meaning to ask, when one does a Reset Hopper in Diagnostics on the Hopper 3 from the menu, does the Hopper Plus also reboot? I know when you reset the Hopper Plus, it does not reboot the Hopper as one can usually tell from the buffer of the Live channel being watched.

I take that back, the same problems are still there.

PIP? That's a good thing, now they just have to bring back Multi-View. The Hopper Plus update did fix the issue I had with when using DISH 50.0 & 52.0 remotes turning on and off the TV with the TV Power button while other remotes worked fine when the TV would power on with DISH Scapes instead...

When I did check updates about 30 minutes ago already on H398, it still did a update and it's still H398 on the Hopper 3, not sure what was actually downloaded. Maybe it's one or more of the following on the Diagnostics screen: Application Software AN712 Features Live Version FL_VENT_PROD_3...
