Fox Soccer Channel gone from Family Plan

Ahhhhhh, the bait and switch....nice. FSC was not listed as a temporary channel when we looked at this package. I guess it's time to change partners in the Dish/Direct dance...

Penalty or service fee for returning receiver?

Hi there, We have Ultimate, with HD DVR and 3 additional HD receivers and are only a couple months into our our new contract. We've decided we don't really need that third additional receiver. Is there a change of service fee or penalty for returning one of the receivers? Thanks much!

    New codes yet for Olevia?

Cool...thanks! This isn't a new remote, is it? Seems like I searched this last year and none of the remotes would pick up the Olevia. At any rate, a few of the 5.3 buttons are getting "sticky", so we'll grab the 21. Nice to finally just need one remote! Thanks again!

Are there any new remotes yet with codes for Olevia? We're using the VIP722. Thanks!

    boston area dish users!

We are in the Boston Eastern Arc market, I assume, as those are our locals. I am not very well versed in sat tv SSQs (more experience with our Hughesnet svc) but it sounds as if your numbers under clear conditions were good, so I'm not sure what to say. Seems like pretty extreme rain/snow fade.

whoops...just read back and saw your posted signal strengths.

    boston area dish users!

Our installer could not hit the required satellites with the two dish set-up (thank goodness) and the Eastern Arc was the only alternative. I wonder if those trees are causing some problem for you, so that in best of conditions, the signal is marginal....adding a little light snow might push it...

    boston area dish users!

We live in SW New Hampshire and are on the Eastern Arc. Rain fade has been tolerable with outages only in the worst of thunder storms and only for brief periods. Snow has become a bit of a problem with the last couple "sticky" snowfalls as snow did build up on the dish. Ours is mounted up about...

    Eastern Arc-SD local channels

Thank you for the clarification. Is there a time frame for this?

    Eastern Arc-SD local channels

We had a new Eastern Arc install today. Americas 250/Gold HD/Locals (according to Dish, we should be getting Boston locals) However, we are only receiving 4 HD local channels. We are getting none of the SD locals. The installer told my wife something about waiting until 77 came on line October...

WOW There IS FREE On Demand

Don't think I will either. For some reason I thought the on-demand programming would come down through the Dish pipeline...ah well...the pay off for living in the forest.

WOW There IS FREE On Demand

Sorry...above definition of FAP is correct...it's been a fact of life for satellite "broadband" (term used lightly) for a number of years. We are limited to 375 MB in 24 hours...if we go over... they throttle us down to below dial-up speeds for 24 hours. There is no limit from 1-3am. Have no...

WOW There IS FREE On Demand

What would you estimate file size for the HD/SD programming per hour? We're in the sticks with only Hughesnet available and am guessing a movie or two will FAP us. I haven't played around with the dvr but can you program download time as Hughes does have FAP free period from 1-3am. Thanks!
