R&B Films to Exclude HD DVD for Future Releases

Now thats what I call professionalism, drop an entire format and in doing so deny content to people who've never wronged you, all over what you deem "abuse" on the internet.

Sony is finally delivering 50GB BluRay Discs!

Two different disc types, the BD-R is recordable, the BD-ROM (read mass produced, movies) are stamped on a production line where the BD-R is written to by a laser. The latter is way too expensive and time consuming to use for mass production.

Any word on in-store movie rental dates?

Looks like they already have. http://www.hdbeat.com/2006/07/20/hd-dvds-and-blu-ray-discs-appear-in-a-local-blockbuster-store/

How is VOOM going to uninstall 46,000 people in one month?

Ditto to what Indy said, They're not.

Am I getting the BEST deal I can from Comcast???

That actually sounds a little better than the deal I got, I'm paying roughly the same but my dish-by-back plan doesn’t go for a full year, sure yours does?

Interesting story in the SKY Report about VOOM....

Forgive me but, maybe I'm not seeing the interesting part. All of this is a re-hash of older stories as far as I can tell.

    Cablevision board meeting today???

My point was to the "if it has something to do in relation to the shutdown of Voom?" But your right, I forgot about the board member reduction, after April 8th I pretty much stopped caring about anything CV related :P

    Cablevision board meeting today???

They have board meetings all the time, nothing new or surprising about that. The decision to shutdown Voom is done. If there's another board meeting to discuss Voom or Rainbow for that matter, it will be to hash out the terms for broadcasting the Cinema 10's on other providers.

Voomer moved to Comcast – initial thoughts

"Satellite radio is more interesting to people than HDTV satellite television is to people." I'm not even remotely interested in satellite radio, but to each their own.

Voomer moved to Comcast – initial thoughts

I did exactly that, have Voom (until the 30th) and Comcast came out last Monday, I'll live, but Voom its not. I am enjoying finally having a DVR though.

    savedbscompetition.org website still up

I doubt seriously a site that flew in the face of Cablevisions fiscal interests, would be hosted on their corporate webserver.

E-mail from Voom - Official Shutdown Notice

Slightly off topic, but. I just had my Comcast install, lol I never realized InHD was so lame. I mean come on, anyone who ever touted InHD as something we were missing, while criticizing the Cinema10’s is a loon. Korean Sumo wrestling anyone? Or how about some nice college baseball….. I’ll...

How Voom gets soccer games in HD?

I believe even though the games are aired in PAL, they're shot in DV. Some DV broadcast cameras can do as much as 800 lines of resolution, so easy enough to transform that into 720p.
