I got the ESPN Unlimited link in my email this morning as well as in my DIRECTV account under the TV Package page. Clicked the link in the email and it had me to login to my existing Disney+ account and I now I have ESPN Unlimited. Very simple process.

That is probably because you are grandfathered into the original DIRECTV Stream. These days it requires at least one leased receiver.

You are on satellite though so a Gemini isn't going to get you free Disney+/Hulu. That is only for stream customers that lease at least one receiver (Gemini Air or Gemini) from DIRECTV. All that article says about satellite is "DIRECTV satellite and U-verse customers will gain access to ESPN...

Since DIRECTV escaped from AT&T they are quicker than they used to be. Took me only 10 days to get a VISA Debit card from the perks program and any discount I receive now are always applied immediately to my account instead of them waiting for a month or two to apply the credit.

So they made what was already confusing...even more confusing.
