I honestly think it will be the biggest mistake ever if Shaw Direct migrates to MPEG-4 before they can launch a MPEG-4/DVB-S2 capible DVR. I can't see many DVR530 owners going to a receiver only option (even if it's free).

The only way to offload all the programs in HD off that hard drive is to purchase a very expensive upgrade that adds a firewire port. I forget what company does this but IIRC the cost is about $500+ and it's not support by StarCHoice, so if your receiver fries, you're up the creek.

I purchased both formats and I'm quite happy with both of them. I have about 15 HD-DVD's and about 20 Blu-Ray discs.

I don't think there will be any HD games in the Centre Ice package itself. I think the 200 game count comes from the total games on TSN, CBC, ABC and NBC.
