    Sometimes, in my hurry to respond to a post I am not as careful with my spelling as I would like. I use a program called ieSpell. This program lets you spell check you posts in a forum. Lifesaver for me. Just an FYI

    I should clarify my previous post. Directv installer removed dish but left mounting bracket. Damage to roof was therefore mitigated.

    "Free HD" does NOT mean you are getting the HDNET pack free. It means that you don't have to pay the HD access fee, which is a separate deal. I have two HD DVRs and I got the $10 credit for 2 years, but I don't have the HDNET package which would cost me $5 per month.

    double play is a way to activate a double buffer. You can run the buffer on two different channels at the same time. That way you can switch back and forth and by rewinding or pausing; you can watch two shows at once.

    I had dish for six years then switched to directv. The installer took down the dish, even though I wanted the directv dish in another location. No problem at all. I still have that dish in my shed. May make a bird bath out of it.

    Will these new HD channels also be broadcast in SD. (I have 1 HD DVR and 2 SD DVRs) Can't upgrade yet.

    People are lazy. The unblock code is probably 1111 That being said, probably impossible to enter without the remote. Directv will sell you one.

    I was watching the news last week about the earthquake in Chile. Saw a big satellite dish (Not as big as a BUD) with directv logo on it. Guestimate was that it was 3 foot dish. If you lived in south america, could you get North American programing via Directv? I am asking about legal...

    The two year commitment is a commitment to stay with Directv. You are doing that, so it should be no problem
