4K upgrade.....does it put you in a new contract period?

We have a TCL Roku TV.....Watched the Super Bowl that way.....it was nice but certainly not a huge improvement over HD for me. My local Hockey team is now broadcasting its games in 4k on one of the Directv 4k channels....not sure if that enough of an incentive to upgrade my equipment...still...

4K upgrade.....does it put you in a new contract period?

Not in a contract now for several years. Would it put me in one if we upgrade to 4k? Which system is recommended......HR54 or HS17.....we have and use an HR44 and an HR24 now. Thanks for all input....

Altitude Sports Network (Channel 681 Dropped)

Just noticed 681-1 is back in the guide....

Altitude Sports Network (Channel 681 Dropped)

Noticed that also. Saturday night is a double header with the Avs and Nuggets both playing about the same time. One of those would be on 681-1. In the past, the DTV guide info for 681-1 would be very late in appearing. Or....maybe 681-1 is a separate negotiation...LOL

Altitude Sports Network (Channel 681 Dropped)

A deal has been made between Altitude and Directv tonight....the channel is back up.....It looks like its only between Altitude and Directv and does not include Dish or comcast.

Altitude Sports Network (Channel 681 Dropped)

I think we all know about pirating these streams. It comes with an extra cost that most are not willing to pay. NBA Pass $200, NHLTV $150, VPN $125-$150 yearly. For a channel that is part of our regular package, most people won't spend this extra cash. We always supscribe to NHL CenterIce, and...

Altitude Sports Network (Channel 681 Dropped)

So Altitude's stance is....we'll sell tickets to our games, we make money...bars charge for food and drinks, they make money...average Joe at home???? Oh well... EFF-Em

Altitude Sports Network (Channel 681 Dropped)

They still have agreements with a few, small cable/fiber outlets around Colorado, but the viewership numbers in those areas is pretty small. My local cable service has Altitude in its lineup. We are a town of maybe 5,000 people. To add a package that would have that channel would run us an extra...

Altitude Sports Network (Channel 681 Dropped)

This is a unique situation....The Kroenke empire owns....The Nuggets, the Avalanche, The Pepsi Center, where both teams play, Altitude Sports, which is the channel all games are televised by, and a Lacross team, and a local Soccer team and its local Soccer field and also a soccer team in...

    Happy Birthday DirecTV

I find it interesting when people talk about how expensive DTV is.....I did some checking on our own expenses over the years. In 2009 our avg monthly DTV bill was around $106. Last year it was $105. Those numbers include, Sports, NHL Center Ice, Sunday Ticket and a large ($60- $70) monthly...

New Guide UI now rolling out (plus HDR support!)

I believe 11a3 was a CE....Weekend nights are when CE's are usually released. Best to avoid CE's unless your willing to deal with some issues....Weekday nights are when NR's are in the stream...usually...

New Guide UI now rolling out (plus HDR support!)

1104 is doing what the previous version(1088) did...that is it does not show all recordings in the playlist. I have an hr24 that will show all recordings. When I do the "test" of the hr44, it restores all recordings to the list...pretty strange behavior....no rhyme or reason to the recordings...

Me too....more of us than people think. With land lines you can actually hear/understand the person on the other end! Hate it when someone calls me with their cell phone.
