Remote is very weak. I programed it to a learning universal remote and it works fine. I understand that you can use a universal remote (non-learning) using codes from Pioneer cable box.

I've been quite happy with mine. I does allow me to send standard def to my projector in 16X9 format. It also gives you more room to play with color,contrast,briteness, etc. You can also set individual settings for each input.

If Dish has the 6000 back in production, it tells us that the $500 reciever really doesn't cost Dish more than $199 to produce. Why would they offer 6000s for $199 only to LOOSE $300 on each one they sold?
