Actually makes sense. They wrote this around their highest compression format (MPEG4 and simplified it by only supporting one. More effort and complication to support more than one.
HR24. Simply put, its here, its available, its fast, it does advanced features (youtube, on demand, MRV, etc.) And you can get deals if you ask for retention when you call up Directv. Just say you are thinking of going to Dish or Cable.
I personally dont miss the Tivo but I know my wife liked it. The key for me has to be the integration with the other Directv units. If it can't do whole house sharing then this is a complete no go. I love how my 3 DVRs work together as a collective with the power of recording 6 things at...
I was watching Directv's capacity the other day. They are certainly the leader. The transponder signal meter checks were very entertaining. Who says D12 is a disappointment?
For me personally
1 - Red Sox versus Yankees
2 - Every God Damn team against the Yankees
3 - Eagles versus Cowboys or Giants
4 - UConn Women BBall versus Tennessee (whats wrong with you Pat Summit??)
5 - UConn Men BBall versus Syracuse
6 - UConn football - looking for one
7 - USA soccer versus...
Cool SatJay. I thought about a second unit but my existing HR20's are acting more like back end DVRs to do the recording and the playing is handled on my HR24. I got an H24 for outside and it plays the recorded shows off the old slow HR20's pretty well. But I agree, the HR24 is finally a...
My retention credits and the HD for life is missing too. I knew that CSR screwed things up when I called a month ago. None of the things he said stuck. Great another call back.
Correct. If you are on an HR24 for example and hit record on a program, it records it to the HR24. If you do that on an H23 for example, it will then ask you which DVR do you want to record to.
