    Need Help Simplifying a System

Cool, Jonathan. I was thinking about finding a way to replace the TV with one that had speaker inputs, but I don't see any of those. I'm somewhat surprised by that because so many people aren't really into the whole component system thing. But I think you've hit on a good way to fix it. Thanks!!

    Need Help Simplifying a System

Hi - I am trying to help get my boyfriend's 90-year old mom set up so she can have surround sound on while watching TV. We tried getting her a Harmony 650 remote but I couldn't get it configured properly, even with 2 hours on the phone with Logitech tech support. She's got a Dish VIP211K...

    U-VERSE DISASTER

The installation problem isn't with the installers per se. It's with ATT and their messed up organization and faulty scheduling software. I lost D* in the hurricane when I had to move to the north side of the apt bldg. My original U-verse install date was 11/11. I came home at lunch and waited...

The ANSWER to last night's HD Poll

I haven't been here in a while, but I noted your comment about an HDMI bug on your 622. I am running a 622 with HDMI at home without any real problems. There was some glitch with the dual tuner, but it didn't seem to have anything to do with HDMI. Lori

Has anybody heard of this company?

This looks a lot like some guy selling just about anything he can get his hands on out of his house. His site shows a street address of 53 N Peaceful Canyon Cir, The Woodlands, TX.

    DVR question

I have my 622 hooked up to a standalone DVD recorder. Works fine.

    622 L3.60 Software Release Notes

HDMI works fine on mine. I'm glad someone mentioned the screen freeze. I thought it was just my receiver and bad signal. I found a new one today - when I'm watching a DVR recorded event, the receiver will jump out of recorded mode and start flipping through live TV channels, mostly the PPV...

    Houston Locals Need 2nd Dish?

Did you get your dish yet Skyblues?

    Recordings from my 942...

I just ordered my 622 and the Techie told me that I would need to get a PocketDish to transfer the recorded programming using USB. OTH, he said 5 minutes later that I could put it on VHS or CD/DVD. Not that I'd EVER want to watch anything on VHS with my TV, but CD/DVD would probably work, too...

    Houston Locals Need 2nd Dish?

That's pretty interesting... I also signed up about 5 months ago and they brought me a Dish 1000 and the 942 receiver. I'm about 20 miles south of Houston. I get my locals on 8370-8378 plus the OTA locals.

    942 blackout problems?

It's a bug. It happens to me quite often - I saw it called out as a bug on one of the other threads. You don't need to unplug it, just hold the reset button for 5 seconds and it'll come back.

    FIRST LOOK: 622 Review!

How do you do that? I thought Dish had disabled that capability. Thanks!

It just got to be too much, cancelled Dish

I think you missed a big part of the point. Before I went to E*, I had no TV for the last 9 months because my apt complex gets some rinky-dink cable outfit that doesn't offer HD. I can't get TWC/RR where I am because of some stupid FCC loophole. Here's what pisses me (and probably a lot of...

    * Note - Do Not Call For Mpeg4 UNTIL FEB 1ST*

Wow - I thought I was the only one who had to jack around with the OTA antenna on my 942. I moved the whole receiver yesterday and voila! I now get Fox as long as the antenna's pointed 60 deg in one direction - and I get CBS if it's 45 deg in the other direction. No matter what I do, tho I don't...
