    Problems w/ 811...

I've got 2 problems: OTA signal strength is fluctuating all over the place and others in Chicago are not having problems (I’m 10 miles from the towers). The modulated output has sound, onscreen info (from the 811) but no picture for either OTA or SAT broadcasts. I only noticed the second...

Problems w/ OTA reception in Chicago??

Thanks... What receiver are you using? Noticed also that the 811's modulated output to the BR TV has sound, onscreen info (generated from the 811) but no picture (for OTA or SAT)!! Perhaps my receiver is on the fritz.

Anyone w/ OTA reception problems in Chicago?

We're experiencing less than normal signal strength on most channels and WGN is at 49% and won't lock. Anyone else or is it just us?

Problems w/ OTA reception in Chicago??

So it's only us? The problem continues today and, although some of the other channels have fluctuated back up and down between 75 and 85%, WGN still will not lock. Also, strangely, the South Bend channels (70 miles away) which are usually hit or miss have been coming in consistently well at 85%??

Problems w/ OTA reception in Chicago??

Tonight’s the first night in a few that we’ve actually watched TV and we’re having problems w/ all the OTA channel strengths on both 811’s. Everything is down 10% and WGN is down 40% and won’t lock in. Is anyone else having problems in Chicago or is it just us?

    811 and Channel Master amp

Just checked the specs on the Channel Master 4032IFD diplexer and it appears that this will work as the previous post says...

    Diplexer Question

Sorry... Responded earlier without fully understanding your question. One thing, the 625 is not a HD receiver so, you realize, you will be watching all the programming originating from the upstairs receiver in SD. I not sure but someone said in your other post that a single RG-6 could be...

    811 ota question

I’m confused as to how you could have powered the amp AND have a diplexed line (no matter the receiver). I’m not familiar with the 6000 but I do know that the 811 does not have any power on the OTA antenna-in (which is irrelevant if you were using diplexers which would have blocked the 12V...

    811 ota question

Again, it depends if your OTA antenna needs 12V… If the antenna is not amplified, you just use diplexers (and a splitter if you have more than one HD receiver). If it is amplified, you can get a Winegard DP-3020 combiner directly from Winegard. Connection as per the diagram (complements of...

    811 ota question

And let's not forget the possibility that the antenna maybe amplified... If it requires 12V, you run a second line, and you're using an 811, you will have to invest in a power injector because the OTA antenna-in on this receiver does not supply the line w/ 12V. For this reason, and the...

    811 problem with OTA

antennaweb.org has the digital tv frequencies and their corresponding channel numbers (after you enter your zip code).

    811 problem with OTA

NBC5's DTV channel number is 29... When you say you looked for it, was it on channel 5 or 29? When scanning, when you see the channels counting up, these are the DTV channels, and they don’t necessarily correspond to the actual channel number.

    811 problem with OTA

I think that my 811 automatically deleted the channel when NBC5 was having problems... Not sure though because I rescanned the DTV immediately when the problem started (and this would have removed it for sure). After the confirmation that the problem was fixed, I rescanned and it came back, no...

    811 problem with OTA

Sent an e-mail to the director of engineering at NBC5... He responded: "We are having some issues with our HD equipment...hopefully the part will arrive on Tuesday (isn't it always over the holiday things break)...I apologize for your inconvenience..."
