I have both Roku and Firestick, Firestick had better picture quality on my TV, but with updates on the Roju I can't tell the difference. But yeah definitely better than trying to use apps on the H3.

Dish most likely got their connections for 5G through Sprint when they purchased Boost from them.

Ah yes, But DTV is or was owned by AT&T they own their own internet backbone and can distribute streams for a lot less than Charlie (Echostar/Dish/Sling) could ever think of doing it for. The of course there's distribution agreements with the channel owners.

My Hopper 3 was on 358 for long time then updated on it's own to 361 then to 363 now 364. Seems more Hoppers are getting updated with the latest software.

Yes I remember the big Disney/ABC/ESPN Dish Dispute, all Disney channels were gone for months I recall, when they returned only a couple of them were in HD, as opposed to prior to the dispute I think all of them were in HD.

Well isn't it up to the TV Channel's/Stations themselves to broadcast in HD, I don't think all Channels broadcast in HD.
