Others on this forum will know better than me, but I think it's important to get a CSR who handles customers who are potentially leaving Directv altogether, not just cancelling one specific service. I have a feeling you didn't get to the person you really needed.

Videojanitor, I should have mentiond that I called into retention from the very beginning (I said "cancel service" at the initial voice prompt). If you didn't do this, it may have made the difference. I'd try again.

I suggest looking at Directv's little known, Preferred Choice package. It runs $3.00/month more than Family, but gives you many more popularly viewed channels like ESPN (1 & 2), CNN, TNT, TBS, etc. Only catch is, being an international programming offering, you must subscribe to SOME kind of...

Very simple to do -- just call Directv's 800 number and tell them you need to change your service address, but (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT) that your mailing address remains the same. If you don't do this, your bill will wind up at the new address and they'll shut you off when it comes time to pay it...

Regarding the Steve Garvey post, what did Cey or Lopes do to deserve being called classless? Unless fathering two children out of wedlock is the qualification for class. Also, Garvey is not in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

You can rip the DVD to your PC and then download a freeware program called Ifoedit. It will allow you to change the flag to 16:9. It'll take you about five seconds to do this. Then, simply burn a new disc and you should be fine.
