Hi - to keep from having to pay DISHNETWORK $5/receiver per month they are telling us that we need to hook up a phone line to our receivers. Ok, problem is we don't have a phone jack nearby. So I thought I could move the receiver to the location of the 2nd TV (Mstr Bdrm) and hook it up there...

i've been getting SA for a couple of months now and each month i get a $5 access fee charged to me from Dishnetwork. Is this normal? I called dishnetowrk and the said i have tp pay it. :confused:

I didn't have to wait 3-4 days.... When i hooked up my satellite for SA, i immediately began recieving their signal w/all their channels. I didn't have to wait 3-4 days. I did call ahead to activate the reciever, then setup the equipment, but waited until after i had everything set up before...

I appreciate all the suggestions, but i believe that kids learn by example and thus will have to set one for them. besides, i can always pop in a 'kids tested/parents approved' DVD. Keep'em safe Coach Al :)

bad cable :shocked It turned out to be a bad cable!!! i took the receiver down to shop and they hooked it up - sure enough, it worked just fine. got another cable from them and went home to hook it up and it is working! I'm at 106 strength. i tested it outside on a small tv, then brought it...

uh oh...sounds like a bad unit then..it shouldnt lock up any way i can test the receiver to see if it's bad? Nobody around me has DishNetwork, they are all DirecTV lovers... Shops here will test, quotes i got are for $75 and up. I might as well buy a new one from store for that price. :confused:

Were you able to select 61.5 as an option? not on the signal finder menu (6-1-1), when i arrow over the highlight goes away and the receiver locks. I have to turn off/on again. :rolleyes:
