Is there an estimate for the time of the switch? I wasn't able to pick up the HD locals this morning around 7 am. I usually can't get them in the mornings, however, I have been fairly consistent in picking up HD locals in the evenings.

I am regularly able to pick up the HD locals out in Montoursville, at least for now. My HD signal began to fail around 11 last night, but before then, I was getting a good HD signal for the locals FOX and ABC. I am not usually home during the day, so I don't know what my signal strength is at...

I was trying to watch the NFC Championship game when FOX went out. Did anyone else have this problem?

I am still new to satellite TV. I'd like to hook up my receiver to a phone line or internet but I don't have a phone jack near my receiver. What do people in that situation usually do? I think running an extra long phone cord is not an option. I have a wireless network in my home. Thanks!

That is good news about Echostar 14. I called Dish again today to see if anything can be done. They said the were aware of the problem of us not getting local HD's and that they are working on correcting the problem. I guess they were talking about E-14. Or maybe that is just what they tell us...

JimS: Thanks for the information! I will call Dish and see if they will come out and install another dish. I am still under warranty since I had the install done in November.

Can one move as frequently as one wishes? I am originally from the Baltimore area and it would be cool to get the Baltimore sports then go back to Scranton in the off-season.

I am still limited on how long I can see the local HD's then I get the blue screen sdschramm posted. Is there a way of changing "spot beams"? What is this "moving" people are talking about? I am very new satellite, so I am not familiar with all of the terms.
