    Free XM/Sirius

Thanks I just came here to find out why the XM is working in my car. CarPlay was lagging and crashing so I thought I’d try it while my phone was rebooting and I was surprised I got more than the preview channel.

Streaming is so popular sirusxm launches new satellite...?

Maybe they launch a sattelite because an older one is nearing the end of its life. Maybe there’s an issue with one and they need to replace it. I doubt they can add sattelite just for bandwidth. I doubt SXM radios are SDR tuners. They have a hard coded, fixed tuning bandwidth. In fact in my...

    Discovery Plus

The wife is interested in this service but it really stinks they are charging for it when we already pay for the Discovery suite of Channels. Why don’t they make the $4.99 ad supported version either that for cord cutters, or FREE if you log in with a valid...

New Switch To SD Feature Added During Bad Weather

Why not switch to the hd stream over the internet? The infrastructure is in place, the mobile apps and website show the HD feeds without issue.

2020 Price Increase for DirecTV & U-Verse TV

I guess owning Time Warner media didn’t really help out that much. No more than Comcast owning NBC Universal.

Why is my cable not working?

Some good questions here. I wonder if it’s the wire gauge or circuit trace thickness. Or maybe the materials. Like you wouldn’t expect cheap speaker wire to pass 1 GHz. There must be something to the materials or construction. I’ve also seen 550 MHz splitters, 900 MHz, 1 GHz and 3 GHz.

Redoing roof in near future. Who’s responsible for DirecTV dish?

There is a 1 month waiting period now to use the protection plan. So even though it was added at $8.99, I would have had to wait a month to claim the service call to reaim the dish. So I still have a $49.00 one time charge for this, line item “dish relocation”. I think that’s fair if I did not...

Redoing roof in near future. Who’s responsible for DirecTV dish?

Hilarious, and talent. No new equipment. Just claims I have a 24 month commitment. As long as the pricing stays low I’m ok with it. The local cable company isn’t any better. Streaming options will just mature in the next 2 years. It really is the best choice in the area.

Redoing roof in near future. Who’s responsible for DirecTV dish?

I got an email today stating I got the protection plan and a new 2 year agreement. Really 2 year agreement since I got a roof?

Redoing roof in near future. Who’s responsible for DirecTV dish?

Guy came today. Was quick. He called me from his cell and I had to watch the screen and I heard him ratcheting away at something and one direction was worse and the other was good. Got all the signals around 95 on 99 and 103, and it even improved 101 a bit (some near 100). Signing out was...

Redoing roof in near future. Who’s responsible for DirecTV dish?

To be honest, I could give two sheets what’s going on with transponders I’m not currently watching. There is no dismiss button on the banner, just a more button that fills the screen with troubleshooting info. That all makes sense IF I’m tuned to one of those transponders. The phone call was...

Redoing roof in near future. Who’s responsible for DirecTV dish?

Yeah I will call later. It’s doing this weird thing where it periodically claims signal loss on satellite in 1 at the bottom of the screen but there are no visual or audio impairments. It’s more of a nuisance / nag message, or boy who cried wolf syndrome, because the current channel is playing...

Redoing roof in near future. Who’s responsible for DirecTV dish?

Well I got the roof replaced today and the roofers asked if I wanted them to remount the “antenna”. I said yes because the sales guy said they mark it and put it in the exact same spot. They also have a 10 year no leak guarantee. Well tonight TV was working fine, at least Disney JR for the...

Redoing roof in near future. Who’s responsible for DirecTV dish?

Mine is at the edge of the roof. Certainly accessible with just a ladder. I don’t own one big enough to reach, so when there’s heavy snow we just have to wait it out.
