    dvd or vcr out to antenna in on dish 500

    Does anyone know, why won't my dish 500, outside antenna in pick up a signal from my dvd or vcr (chanel 3 or 4 output)? Dish tells me it should work, but it doesn't. If it did, I could record, on my 500, anything I play or see on my dvd or vcr. Please help, is there a way? Darbydog
