In the settings you can set a dvr to work as a single tuner which should do what you said you wanted.

The B-Band converter is an in-line adapter which works with MPEG-4 equipment. You will find one usually just attached to the sat in on your receiver. Attached is a picture.

You can diplex with the 5 LNB, but you have to do so AFTER the B-band converter.

Split the OTA signal, run one side to the 622 the other to a signal combiner. Run the TV2 output to the other side of the combiner then to the TV2 set. The sat signal will come in on the channel you set & you can use your TV tuner to get the OTA channels. A good quality splitter will work...

Dish doesn't send component or HDMI cables with their HD receivers. Also, there have been many reports of problems with Dish receivers & HDMI. I have a 622 w/ component & it works well.
