I've been in and out of the office for the past couple weeks doing random freelnace gigs and the latest rumors is that Dolan Sr. wants to keep Rainbow 1 and buy it along with the Voom21 channels....This is quite possible because nothing has been approved by the SEC yet.

Comletely uncompressed HD video will take up about a terabyte for every hour and a half of video. But the DVR will need to have a somewhat high compression rate to make it worth while.

If wall street is right and Cablevison does go up for sale they will be worth more will all these new contracts. This could be a sign beacause Rainbows initail spin off from Cablebvision was going to include Voom as well as AMC WE AND IFC

Im still in and out depending on the day....not really working for Voom but rather AMC and WE. But its all the same place. The management isnt saying anything really. There were 2 board meetings this week but no one knows anything about them. But for now its business as usual....

why should they close this thread....everythign is still specualtion right now, no one really knows what is going to happen, not even the people that work for Voom.

If you have read some other posts there was a board meeting and other people are talking about another meeting tomorrow, which I have also herd about. THere was really no information about the meeting given to any of the employees, but it was a meeting about what to do with the Rainbow Assests...

As a freelancer you dont have a contract they told me I was done last Friday and because of that I was booked working on things for fuse which is also part of Cablevision and happens to be right on the same floor as Voom....

Latest news was the board was meeting all day and took a dinner break at 5 and was going to meet back up this evening...no one here knows anything about what was going on....that news was a 7 when i left

The last meeeting when the decided to sell Voom wasin the afternoon and the press releases were send out starting around 6pm eastern time....so depending on the length of the meeting it there should be news tonight

Even if they do decide to cut funding for all programming tomorrow, they will still provide service until the sale is complete, they will just replay the same things over and over on their original channels

As an employee of Rainbow and Voom who is getting laid off (tomorrow is my last day), the latest infomation employee have is that everything is on hold until a board meeting Monday that will determine what to do with the remaining Voom assets. So wait until late monday night or tuesday to find...

The sale will take at least a few weeks....the promos and the shows have been ready for weeks....

I work(ed) (still 4 more days) in the Promos department for Voom21 which is part of Ranibow. They told myself and at least 7 or 8 other freelancers that this week is going to be their last. The annoucement came last friday the 21st. Also I know that each of the indidual departments are having...

ACtuaully I worked for Voom and I was one of the people that got laid off

Vooms programming is dead as well....they already started laying off some of the freelance emplyess in the production department.
