    Best price on vip211??

Many companies, Telephone, Cable, and others offer great incentives to new customers but fail to do anything to keep current customers happy. It's a marketing strategy that escapes me. Pehaps they figure that existing customers are less likely to switch..so they offer great deals to lure new...

    Outdoor Antenna Amplifer question -

Wooo-hoo! Winegard AP-4700 arrived today....Installed it and checked channels. The VHF that was by-passed looks great and with higher signal strengths than I had with RS 10db amp. All the weaker UHF channels have bumped into the low to mid 90's with my PBS which was really low (60's) into the...

    Outdoor Antenna Amplifer question -

Ordered the Winegard AP-4700 from Summit Source. Should have it by week's end. I'll post the the results when I get it installed. I'm thinking it should work well as it will give a plus in db's at my first set rather than a big minus I've been getting. I was amazed to see the noise...

    Outdoor Antenna Amplifer question -

I did measurements of my actual cable runs from my antenna to the three TV sets I have connected. 1. 150 feet of RG6 coax from the antenna to my grounding block at the house entry 2. 41 feet from the entry to the first cable loop in the house. (I removed the splitter in that room as...

Thanks for all the info guys.....I understand now about the satellite hook up. Looks like the HDP 269 is the ticket for my application. Many thanks to you both again.

    Outdoor Antenna Amplifer question -

I'm not sure I understand the splitting and joining part of your post. I'm currently using my dish receivers to deliver my OTA signals to each TV (not using the TV set tuners at all). Right now I have two coax cables running each receiver, one carrying the satellite signals on "home runs"...

    Outdoor Antenna Amplifer question -

a Brainstorm? This just came to as a bolt out of the blue. My two Dishes (Dish regular and Dish HD) are located approx 50 feet from my antenna. Rather than using the old cable loops in the house for my OTA signals....couldn't get a dish guy to diplex (sp?) my OTA antenna signals with the Dish...

    Outdoor Antenna Amplifer question -

the quest continues Before I order the hdp 269 preamp, I figured I'd hit the local Radio Shack and try one of their in line signal amps. I picked up their 10db model with the little silver tube amp that goes out at the antenna and power injector that goes in the house. Installed it and my...

    Outdoor Antenna Amplifer question -

Installed a Winegard HD 7082 on a telescoping CM Mast. Have a 150' RG6 cable run from the antenna to the house wiring. I do not have an amp installed as of yet. I get a high of 99-100% signal strength on my only VHF station CBS (ch 11- freq asgnmt (9) and a low of 66% on UHF station ABC...

    Grounding an Antenna Mast

As a follow up to my post for anyone else who is interested in this issue I found out the following: Called Local electrical company...guy told me they have no codes concerning antennas or masts. He told me to contact my antenna manufacturer for guidance. Called Antenna manufacturer and...

    Grounding an Antenna Mast

Thanks for the answer. I will be calling my local electric company and see what they say. I have been doing a bit of research and found the following clip: Grounding the antenna by wendell carter The National Electric Code requires that the antenna structure be grounded to protect...

    Grounding an Antenna Mast

Can someone tell what I need to ground my antenna mast? I'm putting it's base on a small concrete pad next to my house and attaching the upper portion to the fascia with a mounting clamp. I will be bolting the lower portion of the mast on to a steel pipe sticking out of the concrete pad...

    RG6 Cable question

I need to buy about 160 feet of RG6 for my OTA antenna run outside. Been to a few places the the prices locally (Home Depot, Lowes, ACE) and the price differences are pretty amazing. I realize there are different quality cables..but the prices vary by as much a $.30 or more per foot in some...

    Looking for a new TV

Westinghouse has a 37 inch monitor that does the 1080P thing. It's priced right too. Seen it perform and the picture is pretty impressive. If you don't need a built-in turner..that's one to look at. Has some nice connectivity also. Not sure you will see any 1080P stuff at the 32" range...
