Sony style has dual layer DVD burner not HD DVD burner, the dual layer DVD burner is 9.4 gb, that's not 25-30gb , which is what u get for HD DVD

No I just did 56 point calibration myself and I also used DVE. for 1600 $TV , I can't justify to pay 300$ more for calibaration .Hopefully I will get plasma or a better display technology in 2-3 yrs. :smug

I agree but the picture in my toshiba 57h83 feels more sharp compared to component, in my IMHO. DVI Colors are a little bit washed out

My Liteon 5005 DVD recorder picks up only SD version via S-video. It is not in the 16:9 format.

I got Liteon DVD recorder 5005, it records DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, Audio CD , VCD on CDR as well as CDRW, but not DVD-RAM. But are u guys able to record in 16:9 format, it records in SD format in SD TV it looks great but it's ok in HD TV. I also I was trying to play DVD+rw in my old mintek...

I already did that , I will try again tonight see what happens

I started using program planner to record programs in my new Liteon 5005 DVD recoreder, it worked fine for 2 days and then it is not working properly. Has anybody having the same problems any fixes? :confused:

I agree, I saw Lake Ontario on DHDT last night and looked pretty good

Got it called voom last night, Boxing in HD, dreaming about it last night seeing the klichko and brewster fight on HBO, 1$ definitely worth it. Ya it will be in HD

I did notice this when I was trying to watch ABCFAM channel, just swithed to another channel, didnt realize this was a bug , I thought it was something to do with transmission

Exactly I noticed the same bug too , but good thing it wont lock up STB, u dont need to reboot. Just go to next channel and comeback then the channel works fine. It is a bit annoying but definitely better than STB locking up :)

I set my STB to auto ( all lights lit using red button), now I can adjust the theater wide stretch of toshiba when i watch SD, even when my input is DVI, STB automatically switches to 480, 720 and 1080 format very well and I use toshiba wide format which is very good for SD channels

First 2 days I had like 4-5 lockups, then I have not had one also. But I have been very carefull. I dont flip the channels that many times , I just browse the program guide using up down buttons and select the channel through that.

U can use the stretch mode for 4:3 SD transmission in voom settings, u will get full screen in 16:9 TV screens and it definitetly prevents burn in. But u may not like the picture as voom stretch mode is not that great
