Prof Revolution S2 7500 USB Query

I have the latest tune-s2 (bb391...) and to get it to compile I changed DTV_DVBS2_MIS_ID to DTV_STREAM_ID in tune-s2.c and commented out DC-II, C-QPSK etc in tune-s2.h. Here are the results I get, first for a DVB-S channel (PBS on AMC1): tune-s2 4091 V 14029 -lnb CBAND LNB: low: -5150 high: 0...

Prof Revolution S2 7500 USB Query

First of all Kyle, your startup messages look good to me. All the right things are in the kernel, and everything gets started like it should. You should be able to tune something at that point, if the dish is aimed correctly. I am getting the same messages you are. The firmware I have is the...

Prof 7500 power adapter (and linux help :) )

Updatelee, the pids have indeed changed, they are now 101 and 256. Lyngsat and the Montana PBS home page both show the old pids, 33 and 38. Now, with "demux -pids 101 256" I can get a file created (that is not empty), however mplayer still cannot read it, it tries to play it as MPEG2 when in...

Prof 7500 power adapter (and linux help :) )

Try this: Tune to Montana PBS (12110 V 2398) with tune-s2 or szap-s2. Run: demux -pids 8192 You should get a file created with the transport stream. Now run: demux -pids 33 38 (these are the actual pids it uses) You will get an empty file. This is the same problem that dvbstream has. I...

Prof 7500 power adapter (and linux help :) )

I just purchased a Prof 7500 and I have it up and running under linux. I run Zenwalk 6.4 and have the 2.6.36 (latest stable) kernel. This is to summarize some of my experiences. I initially made a mistake with the driver, since the Prof uses the STV0903 I thought it needed the STV090x driver...

    dvb world dvb-s2

To DVBWorld.... on the 2006 pci-e card, there appears to be a s-video jack, but there is no mention of the use of the jack. Could you confirm that this is in fact a s-video input? I would like to be able to plug the output from my vcr (YES, I still have one!) into this, and play videos on the...

    Channels.conf files?

Yes, I use a program called xdipo to move it, available here: satellite It has a gui interface, and requires xforms to be installed.

    Channels.conf files?

    OK, here is the channels.conf for AMC21: Estrella_EST-CST:12010:h:0:7161:301:302:3 Estrella_Pacific:12010:h:0:7161:401:402:4 PBS-HD01:12142:v:0:30000:49:52:3 PBS-HD02:12142:v:0:30000:65:68:4 PBS-HD03:12180:v:0:30000:49:52:3 PBS-HD04:12154:h:0:14029:49:52:3 PBS-Montana:12108:v:0:4340:33:38:2...

    Channels.conf files?

I have channels.conf files for 13 KU band satellites visible in the USA, and I'd be happy to share, just not sure how to do that. G19 is huge, over 150 channels, and they're changing them all the time. I don't use mythtv, I just have some shell scripts in a folder tree that tune in the channels.

Linux FAQ about DVB-S QPSK DVB-S2 8PSK PCI PCIe USB adapters

I am using a 31" (80cm) Fortec Star, it's the one in my icon. My LNBF is an Invacom SNH-031. It's mounted on my (flat) roof, with an unobstructed view to the south. I wanted to use as small a dish as I could get away with because we have high winds in this area and I wanted as little load on my...

DVBWorld DVB-S2 USB & PCIe HD Satellite Receivers

This is wonderful news. I've been looking online for a while, and the PCIe 2005 looks like a pretty good card, and has good Linux support. Pendragon, so far as I know, the PCIe card also has the 24116 chip. It will be a couple of months or so before I get my order in, but I'm looking forward...

Linux FAQ about DVB-S QPSK DVB-S2 8PSK PCI PCIe USB adapters

My receiver card will not receive MPEG4 so I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure you could record the transport stream just as if it was MPEG2. Mencoder can record MPEG4, it's just a case of specifying the right codec. I've used Xvid in the past. The thing to watch in all cases is the...

Linux FAQ about DVB-S QPSK DVB-S2 8PSK PCI PCIe USB adapters

The easiest way is just to record the transport stream directly. I am using a combination of dvbstream and mplayer. I have shell scripts set up that look like this for just watching: #!/bin/sh dvbstream -f 12140 -p v -s 30000 -v 49 -a 52 -o | mplayer -ao alsa -vo xv -fs -vf pp=lb - and this...

Using shell scripts for tuning dvb-s

I have tried PBS-HD, and actually watch it a lot. The script for that is slightly different, in that you don't have to do the crop and scale. I don't think that scripts make much difference to system resources. If you have, say, kplayer, running, it will take up a bit of memory but all the cpu...

Using shell scripts for tuning dvb-s

I have been using kplayer and kaffeine for watching dvb-s programming, but recently I switched to a simpler system using mplayer, dvbstream, and shell scripts. I have a shell script for watching, and another for recording, for each channel. Icons on the desktop point to the folders containing...
