I followed your instructions four different times throughout today with the same results, when it reaches NECO nothing else happens after that.

I am going try this a few times today. The trashman comes tomorrow, if this doesn't work right now there is a good chance that he will be leaving with it tomorrow.

OK, that makes sense. I will go and check that out. I went down and checked and it is defiantly "neco" in slower case case letters.

I checked the HDMI ports on the TV and receiver, they are both fine. What I don't understand is that when I hit the menu button the correct menu came up. It was when I went to scroll down to what I wanted is when the video went dark. I was positive I hit the down arrow, but now I am not sure...

Do you mean make sure the hdmi is secure at the TV and the receiver? I don't understand what you mean by "Tv hdmi port is set?" The Octagon logo comes on the TV during the start of the reboot and then it goes black when NECO comes on the receiver.

That worked, I got it to show UPdt on the receiver. Do I do anything more or just wait for something else to happen? UPDATE: I got UPdt to come up and after a few seconds it showed "neco" on the receiver. After that nothing happens. Should the menu show on the TV or what?

I am willing to try anything at this point. Thanks

Thanks for that information. I will try again, but the few times I tried UPdt never shows up on the TV or the receiver. It boots up the receiver and the channel numbers come up on it. I forgot to mention that I don't have Open Atv on the SF 8008. I never could get the hang of it and Rick...

I just can't get the menu to show up. If I could do that I know what to do to reset it. All I was going to do was adjust the brightness a bit. When the menu came up I started to scroll down to do that and everything just went dark. So I just don't know what to do to get the menu to show back up...

If you are using the linuxos Define software try this. Turn on and press exit on the remote a few times to make sure you are out the menu screens. Press menu on the remote once. Press Fav on the remote once. Press down arrow on remote once. Press ok button twice. Use the up or down buttons after...

Not that I know of. This has happened before and I have received instructions from other sources on how to correct it with no problems. But for some reason it's not working this time. I only use the 8008 for storing sports feeds so I guess I will have to go back to using the Linkbox 9000 for that.
