    Why I love DirecTV

So says the guy with the signature, "Just give me the Sabres and Yankees in HD."

    Why I love DirecTV

You know what channel I've been missing in HD? Rainbow Bright HD. You should have just stuck with the HBO, Starz and Cinemax channels. It's a little silly to say that people are "missing" the Pentagon Channel... And I'm guessing that most posters around these parts would sooner gouge their...

The most recent NR is rumored to fix the speed issues. D* started the roll-out yesterday.

First Look: TV2 IR Converter Kit

The feature sheet PDF in post one, Diagram B. Use a splitter to connect the RF antenna and the TV2 IR converter to the Remote Antenna port on the receiver. I would imagine you could use two splitters if you are using the Home Distribution Output. Stack Diagram A with Diagram B.

First Look: TV2 IR Converter Kit

I'm going to use this with a Universal Remote MX-900 and MRF-350 basestation in room 2. The MX-900 is an RF remote and the MRF-350 is located in another room with the VIP722. The TV2 IR kit will go directly into the 722 and the MRF-350 will plug directly into the TV2 IR's input. I currently have...

Anyone having horrible issues with 129?

Or you could just use a little trigonometry: Shadow Measurements --Or, if you hate math: Tree Height Calculator

Anyone having horrible issues with 129?

You can check line of sight issues with DishPointer.com. Put in your address and select 129 from the drop down. Check the box for "show obstacle," and drag the red dot to where you think you have a problem. It will tell you the maximum height of the object to still get LOS.

That's a problem with Sadoun's link - the title of the page I linked to is wrong.

The biggest advantage is a single dish. But there probably will be no change in quality. Maybe slighly lower signal levels (because of how the dish has to be designed) - but nothing noticable to you. This assumes the Dish tech does his/her job. If you have a drop in quality - Dish will send...

    Local Channels 129

You are correct, Montgomery HD comes off 129 (EKB: Dish HD Locals) and Montgomery SD comes off 110 (Dish Locals in 178 cities). The reason you get national HD is because 129 content is mirrored on 61.5. You could actually swing the dish pointed at 61.5 around to 129. But if Dish offered to...

    Second Dish for RV

The angles are different for EA and WA. People in the east sometimes have trouble with WA satellites because their elevation is lower in east (110, 119, & 129). Likewise, people in the west would have trouble with EA satellites because the elevation is lower for those in the west (61.5, 72.7, &...

    Local Channels 129

What market are you receiving your locals from (ie, from what city are they broadcast)? From what I could find, you can't get locals from Dish in the Columbus, GA market - in which Lee County, AL is listed. Are you getting your locals from an antenna?

    Second Dish for RV

That would make sense to me. The shipping on the dish kits is pretty expensive. Is there a reason you wanted EA? If there was, that would be the only reason I would spring for the EA at home and use the WA on the RV. But if there's no advantage (ie locals or RSNs), the programming is the same...
