I bought my TV on a Saturday and the upgrade install the following Friday, worked out well to test everything, etc. while installers were still on site. Not a big deal to live with SD for a few days. Also makes the HD picture look that much better.:)

Agreed, on the Sunday ABC telecasts here locally the lip sync is generally awful and the picture quality is hit or miss.

I haven't run into it on TNT on either TV1 (HD) or TV2 (SD) from my 722. I do run into very bad on the ABC HD feed of NBA games, not sure if that is a local affiliate issue or not.

The make/model of tv seems to drive a lot of the differences from what I've seen, Samsung seems to look better on component, my Vizio and Dad's Sony look markedly better with HDMI

Just wanted to say that we were upgraded today from 522, expecting to get a 622 but was installed with a 722, fantastic picture and the two guys doing the install were great, added the wing dish, in and out of here in less than 2 hours. Excellent experience from both Dish for the nice upgrade...

Agreed, they managed to take a decent book and trash it. I don't know how NBC stays in business.
