Hitachi Touro Desk 2TB HD and ViP612

I replaced the Hitachi with a Western Digital EHD that was previously used with a ViP211 receiver and everything worked fine! I then tried the Hitachi with the ViP211 and it worked fine also! I guess certain EHDs don't work with all ViP receivers.

Hitachi Touro Desk 2TB HD and ViP612

I can't get a Hitachi Touro Desk 2TB external HDD to format for a ViP612. When I enter Menu--> Multimedia--> My Media--> Manage Device it asks me to format the attached USB device. When I press "yes" it proceeds to format the drive and when finished returns me to the last channel I was on. There...

Distribute modulator output (UHF) through a DPP44 switch

I want to distribute output from a modulator (UHF channels) though the DPP44 switch to my 4 satellite receivers. Can I use the 4th input port? Would I use a Holland DPD2 diplexer? The output from a 1000.4WA dish is also going into the DPP44 switch.

SC dropping Buffalo + Fox Detroit

I don't get it. I currently get Detroit East feeds on channels 284 thru 288 as well as the Buffalo/Rochester feeds. If they drop the latter what do they replace them with for me?

Yeah, right; and CEO's should stop getting $53 million Xmas bonuses and give concessions to their hard-working employees now working for $12 per hour! :)

    five sat locations possible?

I too have all legacy LNBFs and switches, and like you, I cascade the SW64 with a SW21 to get 110W, 119W, 129W, and 148W to an 811 receiver. It seems to me that if I wanted to add, say, the 61.5W satellite all I would have to do is replace the SW21 with a SW31 switch ( Maxx Electronics Corp. ...

    ViP222 and SW64/SW21 switch compatibility

Thanks a lot for your help. I think I'm going to call Dish Network, change my order and get a ViP211 instead of a ViP222.

    ViP222 and SW64/SW21 switch compatibility

Why is it that I don't have a problem if I direct swap the 811 with a ViP211 instead of the ViP222?

    ViP222 and SW64/SW21 switch compatibility

What if I fed the same input into the two tuner inputs on the ViP222 using a splitter?

    ViP222 and SW64/SW21 switch compatibility

I'm still confused. What are these "two cable runs" connecting to - from where to where?

    ViP222 and SW64/SW21 switch compatibility

I don't understand. The only receiver that I am replacing is the 811. The other 3 receivers (1-JVC301, 2-EchoStar2300) will remain. Are you thinking of the second tuner in the ViP222? I will not be using this tuner, at least not for now. It's too much trouble running a cable through the walls.
