    dvb world dvb-s2

few request to dvbworld Few request: 1. Any chance users can set the size for split file? 2. Would be nice to have the dvbworld application running renderless mode when recording, in other words, have video/audio ON/OFF option. This help a lot when recording HD program. 3. Improve http...

    receiver vs. demodulator

ASI-USB is not cheap. Cheapest solution is LVDS-USB made by Rod, supported by TSReader. You will need an ASI-LVDS converter, check out ebay, if you are lucky you can a EVS unit for less than $50, plus the cost of Rod's board ($300 as I remember). $350-400 still a good deal, cheaper than other...

These Imedia is useless since we can't find driver for it. You are correct, the company was bought by Terayon. As I know, these cards were used in Cherrypicker units.

    DVBWorld USB 2102 and TSReader

I have the 2101 using with TSReader, it works great. Mine is 9v. I had problem at first, different problem though, mine was once in a while, TSReader could not see the device. I needed to unplug the usb cable to make the laptop recognize it again. I changed to different usb port, it fixes the...

Pansat 9200 DVB-S2 maybe possible with add-on board

I agree with you 100%. Still in DTV case, people bought programer that can be used with other smart card, they still got DTV letter. Just a scare tatic. It's not about what we think, it's about what the satellite provider do... This is sad but true, these add-on board are designed to steal the...

    new fortec HD specs

A cheap Pal <---> NTSC converter will not solve the problem, what it does is to chop off the lines make it fits in NTSC making the picture sutter. The quality of these cheap unit might even worst than the built-in Pal-NTSC converter in the receivers. As I mention earlier, the chip Fortec uses...

    receiver vs. demodulator

If specs of Rod's board indicates up to 108mbps, it won't be any problem. We were talking about the bitrate limitation of the EVS LVDS-ASI converter. If the EF Comtech has SPI out, that's perfect for Rod's board. FTARock

    receiver vs. demodulator

Yes, I got mine from that seller. I have not seen that seller listed these EVS boxes anymore. I agree, the way of connection to make this box work is odd, but it does work for for TS format conversion. Some have report that there is bitrate limit for the lvds of this unit, up to 75Mpbs or...

    receiver vs. demodulator

Before you spend your $, make sure you know what you gonna get with the EF Data Comtech: 1. Modulator and Demodulator are totally different. What you need is a Demodulator with ASI or LVDS out. Further explain for the Modulator, that's the unit takes the transport stream in either via ASI...

    Equity DVB-S2

would like to buy your 5100 version...:), kidding, surely know it's typo of 8100HD. I am using a CS8000 that I bought from hackerwanna for less than $200, love it!!!, software is buggy but for the price I paid, could not ask for more, it does good job for hdtv and dvb-s2 FTARock

    receiver vs. demodulator

Most people go for commercial units because they are the only that support the modulation they want (8psk Trellis, DC2 Combo...) Therefore, having ASI or SPI out for transport stream is important if one plans to record the program. FTARock

    receiver vs. demodulator

For the hobby, Dektec is overkill, the cheapest way is to get Rod board LVDS-USB. Try to get a LVDS <--->ASI unit, they listed on ebay once in a while for really cheap. EVS is the brand, got one for $30. Rod's lvds-usb board is $400 as I remember, plus a EVS box, it's cheaper than any other...

    Dish size for DVB-S2?

That's not correct with O/V dvb-s2 in Ku I have seen so far. Not gonna go into more detail on what kind of feeds, it's a sport basketball in dvb-s2 8psk, 1m well tune has problem with it, 1.2m well tune get clean lock with errors once in a while. Another occasion, News feed in dvb-s2, same...

    Equity DVB-S2

I take your questions as "8psk trellis", the answer is no. Don't be confused 8psk dvb-s2. DVB-s2 can be qpsk, 8psk...same as dc2 can be qpsk, 8psk. None of the consumer dvb receivers/pic on the market is able to pull in 8psk trellis.
