Hey Starman, I checked out the thread on the ss2. Sounds promising, but the heat issue worries me a bit. Will do some more research. This sounds like a brand new card (or version of the card). Do you know if it has been out long enough to determine long term reliability?

Thank you for the replies. So aside from blind scanning, I guess the cards then are pretty equal and seem to use the same software? Any card you prefer or think should be avoided?

I would like to add a sat tuner to my HTPC. But information regarding a PCI card's ability to blind scan seems to be vague. Are there cards out there that will do a blind scan, or is it not a function of the card but rather the software running the card? Thanks for anyone's input.
