    Reciever stuck in duo mode

New success at resetting my VIP 922 - return of TV2 on Solo/PiP mode... reset the Factory defaults, hard-booted with at least 1 min pulled-plug at least 3 times, reset to Shared View On and Solo/PiP, and my TV2 has come back to life. Of course - having to reset all of the channels, etc, but...

    Reciever stuck in duo mode

I of course have done both - several times. And Solo/PIP with working TV2 does not come back.

    Reciever stuck in duo mode

Same here on my 922 refusing to go back to Solo/PIP Same issue here - my 922 refuses to go back to Solo/PIP (my preferred setting.) My 922 hardware has been fairly flawless - it is just a software issue, and hoping it will be resolved by S119.

    922 Software Update This Week

In case you haven't seen elsewhere, make sure you check Settings (Yellow) > Updates, to make sure you set the update time for some early pre-dawn hour, when you have the unit powered off, and when you don't have anything set to record. You should get the update, if Dish has set all of the...

    922 Software Update This Week

Same here. S118. Hopefully some or all of the bugs of S117 were fixed.

    Just received software update S116!

Just to connect this thought - I did have the time tonight to scan the Hopper Zone, and sure enough... in two posts, including this one, I see that this bug has survived the 922 software right into the Hopper. (Hey, the name kind of works with this use.) Dear Dish Engineers: Please fix this in...

    Just received software update S116!

Yep - still the same 922. The real question in my mind is - does the Hopper also have this problem from its ancestor (922,) or did they fix that for the Hopper? (I haven't done a thorough scan for this on the Hopper threads.)

Will 922 Ever Get Blockbuster At Home

I think I have reasoned out why they have been so dodgy about this. I think it all has to do with monthly recurring fees. They simply get more monthly money in the long run from a Hopper/Joey(s) than they do from a 922. There were some technical issues that they could have / should have ironed...

Will 922 Ever Get Blockbuster At Home

Should we have a contest to see what is done first? BBAH or Return of DishSupport.com? :coffee

    Do I have a dead 922?

Thanks for the response, Matt. However, what I was aiming for was not conjecture or comparison, but something that would say - hey, this is basically what we are seeing create this scenario of a near-dead 922 with high fan noise. It was my hope that there would be some specifics that could be...

    Do I have a dead 922?

Dish DIRT members - you know, while I haven't had this problem, it is clear that several experience this same thing. Is it possible to give the official, technical explanation of what this failing is, and why it goes bad? Is there a chip that is faulty, or something that overheats, or what? Or...

I found this this morning while trying to visit Dish Support.....?

So, Matt G.... or anyone from DIRT ... what happened to the support forums at DishSupport?

    On Demand

Noticed recently that there are (currently) no more FREE On Demand movies, as there have been in the past. Lowest priced On Demand movie is $2.99. Is there a new policy that has not been announced? (Or which may have been, and I didn't see it?)

    Logos

"So you can complain or give DISH a break and be happy with what you do have? I am.:)" I have seen this kind of comment quite often, and while I appreciate those who are very positive, I would like to remind them that they are sending hundreds of dollars per year (or more than $1000/yr) to a...

Question for you 922 UI gurus

On the first bit, I should have added that even if you name something in a Folder, if you are looking at your DVR contents with 'No Folders', all you see are the original titles from the Guide, and nothing to indicate something is in a folder view. Oh well. OK - yeah, I figured you might...
