Finding out how much of that stuff is on Netflix is speeding up the process. The advantage is there are no commercials on Netflix so cutting the cord is getting easy. I still have the learning curve

Actually it is not a threat, it is the plan, as soon as I get the shows off of the 722. That is not as easy as one would expect.

I bought an antenna and a TiVo. We already buy Amazon and Netflix. The next time Dish pisses me off they are outta here.

The home distribution is pretty wimpy. I have mine going to several TVs and I had to use a distribution amp. I also have both boxes (a 722 and a 222) along with an agile modulator and a Replay, feeding the amp so I have 6 virtual channels at each TV

What is Dish sending in the video stream that keeps an Avermedia card from seeing the HDMI and the component output? The composite works fine. This is on OTA stuff and even the menu screens. I can understand if they automatically clip DRM on everything on the HDMI but component is just supposed...

If the hopper is anything like the 722, the OTA tuner sucks anyway. I have one but getting 30 mile away towers is an iffy thing, even with a very robust antenna. I can get signal lock on my old analog TV using the free gov'mint. digital converter and a little wire loop but the Dish pixelates...

You might be able to record them on a PC but the DRM is becoming so pervasive, that may not be able to be done these days. I know my PC software (Avermedia) will not let me record an HD movie from the HDMI interface but I can get them if I use component inputs. The studios have little interest...

Sorry this is on a 722k. I had it replaced for another bad one and the new one acts the same.

On some shows, if you hit the go back button, it will go way back, somertime all the way to the start of the show. On other shows it works perfectly.
