    Special request from Turbosat

It has been forever since I have been on the forums, and turbosat's post was the first I read. Just to let everyone on here know, I live in Birmingham and turbosat helped me get my fta system going when I was totally clueless about it. This would suck to read about anyone having to go through...

    Color temp: 6500 vs. Native....

Blue does look a bit "off" on 6500. But if you put it on "native" - blue gets extreme! -phil p.s. after I used the DVE calibration dvd (can't wait for the blu-ray version to come out!) and used the color glasses thing-a-ma-jig to get the colors set right - my blue looks how it is supposed to on...

    720p vs 1080p

Great article! Thanks! Some of us noobs need something nice and simplistic to help explain all of this. Isn't that EXACTLY what the article said? I don't like sitting too close to my screen anyway.

HD Fury - It looks amazing!!!

Yes, but with a satellite box, ps3, hdmi dvd player, and 360 - I ONLY use my hdtv like a computer monitor anyway. I very rarely use the over the air part/tv part of it anyway. Is there any difference other than that? -phil

HD Fury - It looks amazing!!!

Thanks! 1080p for 400$ That's a bargain! This one is probably hdcp compliant already though - but I might just get one anyway! How will ANYTHING hold up if they do that? I mean, won't EVERYTHING stop working correctly then? That is like when they start changing the encryption on dvds to make it...

    HDMI to Component Question

Check out my post on the hdfury. http://www.satelliteguys.us/television-sets-projectors/115038-hd-fury-looks-amazing.html It makes older tv's hd compliant. I have used it on several older tv's and it works very well. I wonder if you could use the component AFTER it tells the device that the tv...

What will you do with your SDTV 2009.

I have one that I am keeping around for the older - non 16:9 - video game systems. I still have a lot of ps2 and xbox games that look better on an sd than they do on the hdtv. Sure you can use a component cable for the first xbox and get 16:9 480p. But there are an awful lot off jaggies and it...

    Lost ONN signal

Hi Charles, fellow Alabamian! I have to use the "turn off the Viewsat in the back and that usually fixes everything method" a lot also! After a good reboot - it runs nicely. ONN running great here - but might not be if I don't reboot in a couple of weeks. I wonder if other fta boxes are like...

From a Wal-Mart Online TV Ad...

Speaking up upscaling - how come that sometimes a movie (wide-screen) is upscaled on my upscale dvd player and it looks great - everything is in proportion and fills up more of the screen. And then sometimes it just looks all stretched out like the non hd satellite channels? I watched a movie...

HD Fury - It looks amazing!!!

Ok - I finally got the thing. Then I had to spend a whole day going to comp usa's and bestbuys and circuit citys to find a female hdmi to male dvi-d adapter. But it was worth it! It does EXACTLY what it says. I have three old monitors. One lcd and 2 crts. The lcd can do up to 1920x1200 (or...

    Color temp: 6500 vs. Native....

The calibrated tvs that I have seen either look "off" a little bit or COMPLETELY AMAZING. After just using the pictures off the site I mentioned earlier, my tv looks AT LEAST 60% better now. And I thought it looked great how it was to begin with! I can't wait to get a calibration dvd if that...

From a Wal-Mart Online TV Ad...

When I bought my tv at Circuit City - they went out of their way to warn me that "regular" digital tv, like cable or satellite, would look like crap on HDTV. The guy said that people are appalled when they spend thousands on a tv and get home and it looks terrible (as if everything was already...

    Color temp: 6500 vs. Native....

Ok - I have decided to calibrate my tv because of you guys - especially after reading this article : HDTV resolution explained - HDTV World - CNET.com "According to the Imaging Science Foundation, a group that consults for home-theater manufacturers and trains professional video calibrators...

    Color temp: 6500 vs. Native....

Gregg, vurbano, I agree with you BOTH! I love knowing that something of mine that I really like is maxed out and used to its full potential or beyond. And I also think that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. That is why I am kind of "take it or leave it" about the calibration while at the same...
