    Loyal Dish customer longevity

Nice. 625 is ringing a bell. I used to buy my receivers when there were monthly fees to be saved. Last Dish equipment I bought was the 722k OTA module. Still have one, maybe two in the cabinet.

    Loyal Dish customer longevity

    23 years with a self-install 3000 receiver and a Dish500 dish, I think. Or the 500 dish came shortly after the single LNB 300 dish installation. Added a 2nd dish aimed at 61.5° when HDTV launched there. Here's a memory test... Recite the receiver's you've had! 3000 4000 311 322 625 622 211k...

A way to deal with offset dish aiming in difficult situations

Playing NBC Feeds w/ All Audio Tracks (via VLC and OpenWebif)

Try the method in the second post. Launch VLC by dragging the exe file over the bat file icon. Right-click/copy link the stream icon next to the channel in the OpenWebif channel list. Paste this link into the Open Network Stream, then Play. Sometimes my OpenWebif will create the m3u8 file...

Playing NBC Feeds w/ All Audio Tracks (via VLC and OpenWebif)

Alternately, to launch the channel... Open VLC by dragging the VLC.exe file over the .bat file to launch VLC with all audio channels activated. In OpenWebif Right click the "Stream" icon next to the NBC channel that is desired, then Copy Link Address. Go to VLC>Media>Open Network Stream and...

Playing NBC Feeds w/ All Audio Tracks (via VLC and OpenWebif)

NBC feeds are great, except for the split audio tracks that they contain. Here is a way I've found to watch with all audio tracks active. This is done via PC and the player VLC, and in my case with Enigma based STBs, specifically OSMIO4k for me. First, make a .bat file like this: Next, I...

A way to deal with offset dish aiming in difficult situations

A PM specifically asked about dealing with the angles with an offset LNB. I'm not sure what the dish offset means in relation to what is being measured. Is it the angle between the LNB eye and the normal projection from the dish center, or is it the angle between the sat signal and the...

A way to deal with offset dish aiming in difficult situations

I’ve had several PMs asking how to do dish aiming when using a dish installation on an inclined pole as pictured in this post. https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/how-do-i-get-a-ku-dish-to-point-lower.369079/page-2#post-405964 I can’t edit that post, so a bit more detail is given here to...

    4K Events Discussion Thread

Thanks for that. UHD, when Samsung uses it, doesn't seem to be referencing ultra high Def resolution. The settings use the term "uhd color" for a color setting. The way I understood the uhd color setting is that it enables HDR if present. The only HDR indication I've seen on my Sammy UN65 or...

    4K Events Discussion Thread

I think Samsung lists HDR as UHD Color. The pic is not to show pq, just the image resolution. It's my smudgy phone camera! Sent from my SM-G950U1 using the SatelliteGuys app!

    4K Events Discussion Thread

I just tuned to the 540-01 pace holder screen and it's in 4k. I recorded a few minutes and it plays back in 4k. I'm on EA sats. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using the SatelliteGuys app!

    4K Events Discussion Thread

I can't explain it. I'm using a 4k Joey tied to an H3. It has worked for other Dish 4k. Is a 4k program recorded in 4k for 4k playback? Sent from my SM-G950U1 using the SatelliteGuys app!

    4K Events Discussion Thread

I posted earlier in this thread a few weeks ago a Husker game on 540 was in HD and not 4k. I noted this weekend the game was not 4k delivered again. The MLB games are being sent to the TV as 4k.

    Odd 4k channel 540 issue.

I put a post in the 4k discussion thread saying I was not getting 4k resolution during the IA game. HD was being sent from the Joey instead. I've had 4k before from 540. This is the first occasion I remember a downres signal. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using the SatelliteGuys app!
