Big BLIND SCAN problem --- SV360 Elite

I disagree. I used my 360 Elite for more than two years for FTA. One tuner for C band the other for Ku, both motorized. The motor control was excellent and the blind scan decent. If you can live without HD this receiver works just fine for FTA. Oh, and I didn't appreciate how easy this receiver...

What size dish to reliably receive S2 signals for both C-Band and Ku-Band?

I am getting all the RTV on AMC-3 with a 7.5'. I have noticed that the aim is very critical. If I move my dish east or west by a count of two on the vbox, I lose the signal. This despite have good quality on both of those TP's, about 72%. With a DVB-S signal I can usually drive the dish east /...

    Azbox Editors

I'll give the Maz program another shot. Maybe try frequent saving while editing. That really is a bizarre glitch, I notice that if I've been editing and then scroll quickly through the satellite list while watching the total channel number it will magically change. It seems to be adding channels...

    Azbox Editors

I blind scanned in everything from AMC-6 to G23(so far, I always work east to west). I changed the min. freq. to 3700Mhz, and the min. S/R to 2000. probably took about 10 min. per satellite doing it that way. I'm not really a feed hunter so I find I find the time it took acceptable. If you were...

    Azbox Editors

Thanks RADAR, I have gone through the A-Z manual. It was quite helpful in setting up the link between the Azbox and the computer. I am able to successfully move files back and forth wirelessly between the Azbox and my computer. I managed to figure out the quirky motor control on my own. I...

    Azbox Editors

I got my Premium+ last week. I have all the sats scanned and have the channel list on my computer. All I want to do is edit the channel list, no TP's or sats. I've tried the Maz 3 editor with no luck. If I edit the channels on one sat then move to the next one, when I come back to the first one...

I did a quick test drive on that program I mentioned. I think it could be very useful. Is your dish bracket perpendicular to the azimuth angle? I don't know how critical that is, but I'm guessing that would give you the best results if using a non-plumb pole. Mine in currently off by about 10...

Try this program (I haven't used it, but it looks like it calculates offset dish angles) SAT - Satellite Antenna Alignment (Satellite Dish Alignment) I guess I got a little bit lucky on my 30 degree experiment. The elevation was perfect right off bat and azimuth was off by a about a 1/2 inch...

What do you mean by "point opposite my current arc" ?

SSO audio 2 Home theatre with a 2 TV setup

Yes, you can just use a regular RCA type cable... Unless you're an audiophile, then you'll need something with gold plated ends, cryo-treated, oxygen free wire that costs at least $500 :D

    FTA Receivers and warranty

Thanks RADAR, I'm not a total newb, so hopefully I'll need minimal babysitting :D FTA has been a fairly casual hobby for me for the last few years. Something in the last few weeks has made me want to kick it up a notch:)

    FTA Receivers and warranty

I addressed the warranty issue specifically with DrSat. He assured me that warranty claims would dealt with by him , so no re-direct to the manufacturer. That was what I wanted to hear. Hopefully it won't be needed.

Decided to give this a try after reading this thread. Really didn't think it would work up here, but with a nice mild winter day and some time to waste, why not give it a try. I jury rigged a spare 36" Fortec onto a fence pole with some plywood scraps and brought my Fortec Classic NA and 9" TV...
