    If I'm dreaming...

Not to get too off topic, but I am amazed by some of the comments in this thread. I've been married for seven years. My relationship with my wife is incredibly strong, mutually supportive and non combative, especially in comparison when i read threads like this. In seven years I think we've...

Voom may never have a PVR

QUOTE: Whats their slogan "People don't record illegally, machines do!" man, I'm still laughing...that was a good one!!

    Voom chases off another customer.

I also just cancelled today, but not due to bad service or microstutter or lack of content. I have had a very pleasurable experience with Voom. Unfortunately, we do not have the proper exposure for the Voom sat - west is the best I can do. So for me it's OTA HD (my HTPC is an OTA HD PVR)...

OT: WIfe and I had an arguement about HD

Ok, I'll chime in...I have a small 26" Samsung HDTV with HD OTA Tuner in my bedroom. An InFocus X1 for the living room/theater set up. And a Panny 32" HDTV for my girlfriends house (couldn't stand going there to watch a movie in SD - had to buy her a HDTV set). I'm currently in the midst of...

I have now fallen victim to VOOM billing issues.

My cable company charges me for a month in advance. They've been doing that for years. What's the big deal? They do however, issue credits much faster than V*. They actually show up on the next bill. Now that I'm in bed with V*, I am concerned about cancelling, but yeah, I'll do it the same...

    VOOM & TIVO...???

Concrete*, I must disagree to a degree. I would never have bought a tivo until they started to get integrated with DVD burners. That made me make the jump from a cable supplied DVR (previously E* PVR) to Tivo. I can see the value in a DVR, but without the abilitiy to burn to DVD it is not...

    Tivo Conversion

Really Choochie, the issue is not dead and you are wrong. I'll say it again just for you: tivo does work with Voom. Anyone with their head above the waterline when it comes to the state of the art timeshifting or recording HD KNOWS that the only solutions are DVHS tapes (recording only) ...

    Tivo Conversion

did it last night myself...i'm playing back a HD Rave concert that I recorded this morning and burned to disk. looks not too shabby when played back on my X1...surely not HD, but certainly better than I get over my cable...

OT::How much do you spend on technology?

I thought this migh tbe a bit of a wake up call and perhaps a bit fun too. Consider cable, DBS, internet access and cell phones or blackberry devices, what do you spend a month on these technologies. Here's my line up: 1. Cell phone - $115 (heavily used for work aprox. 2000 primetime mins a...
