I do this all the time. It's a bit flaky (I have to unplug the keyboard every once in a while to reset it), but it works fine. There's a cross post on dbstalk.com with all the mapped keys and everything.

I have this exact problem as well. I don't know if it's related to the keyboard being wireless or not (I use the Gyration Ultra GT mini keyboard). I wound up plugging the USB cable in the front port on the 721 so I can easily reseat it whenever it "burps". Still, it only happens once in a while...
