Damn if I'm not 3 days late, but I was calling DN to see about adding distant locals with hd, and the rep told me to check out my 6000's and sure enough, KC HD locals have been in effect since March 9th! I am finally a happy DN customer.
Not that I've done this personally, but I have seen 3 people do it already. Its not that hard. You keep your billing address the same and tell the CSR that you moved and have already installed all of your equipment yourself and are just needing to change the local channels to the specified...
I have a kenwood and the sync issues happen from time to time. Its not specific to HD channel either. It happens to my locals as well (not OTA locals). Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't.
You may try unpugging from the outlet as a last resort. It did not work in my case, but it has for many others. I recieved my 211 in the mail (more than likely you will get a 211 as well) and have had no problems for a week now. GL!
Suprisingly reliable? I pay alot of money to watch tv every month. It damn well better be 100% reliable for the money we all pay.. and FYI, the 411 isn't that new. I'm tired of $hi&* gear.
Not in my case. My 811 worked perfectly. This 411 is a freakin nightmare. And of course tech support and other CSR's are cluless. Lets just hope I don't recieve another lemon in the mail...
I have the exact same problem with my 411 which is the same as the vip211. I've commented on it several times in other posts. I have to reset mine 6-10 times a day if not more since the day I got it about a week ago. Dish is finally sending me another in the mail and should get here on Monday...
You know what pisses me off??? I am in a location where I cant get ANY HD locals OTA and my local affiliates will NOT give waivers and this guy is complaining about not being able to get NY locals. Be thankfull for what you have bro; many of us are suffering much more than you are....

I have to hard reset about 5 times a day. It's bs. I am truly getting fed up. I get different answers every time I call. I guess they are going to send me out another one sometime, maybe. Supposedly a level 2 tech was suppose to call within 24/48 hours. It's been 4 days and no one has...
Anyone else with a VIP211 or 411 have to hard reset 3-5 times a day? It's getting really irritating. My screen either freezes or goes black; after a hard reset it goes back to normal.

I believe you will just get a $25 credit for returning your other recievers. (Not sure about 2) But I am 100% sure that there are no upgrade options that involve $49 and a 622. I would just call and inquire about the reciever that is scheduled to come out. I don't believe thier computers...
