Just noticed yesterday that I had lost CBS-HD on 148. Called Dish tech support and advanced tech support tonight. They acted like they had never heard of the problem. They're sending a tech out next Saturday. Hopefully it will be software fixed before then.

My 811 has developed the exact same problem over the last couple of weeks. I believe it is only the 110 satellite that I am losing. I don't think it is a heat issue as my 811 is on the top shelf of a completely open A/V rack. I still like the 811, but it is pretty annoying.

My HDTV will do stretch modes with 480p and you can output that from the component outs. I know some TV's won't do that. I assume you've tried it with yours?

I don't think so. I literally stuck my ear to the top of my 811 with no other noise in the room and couldn't hear a sound coming from it. So no worries with 811 fan noise. :mrgreen:

Yes, it is. If I set the output to 480p, I can tell my TV is receiving a 480p signal because I can use the zoom modes on my TV. For that reason, my pick would be 480p for SD channels at least until Dish gets their zoom feature working on the 811.
