I work in retentions for DirecTV.. ask me anything you want to know

I would take myself out of suspension, wait a week, and then call and speak with retention. For whatever reason, you tend to get nothing if you try to get a retention deal fresh out of suspension.

    All inclusive price

Well, it IS a ripoff, but only if you get the promo rate for one year. If you get the two-year rate (all included is a requirement for the two-year rate), then it gets more advantageous to take the offer for the All Included.

    All inclusive price

If you get an "all included" package deal, the price goes to the same amount after the promo ends whether or not you have 2 or 4 TV's. Case in point, if you have the Select all included, you get the standard promo rate of 50$ a month, and then 92$ a month after the expiration date. That's the...

Be careful about Maiden names, and all that.... I've seen instances where accounts were caught, canceled, and then charged the ECF anyway. 1. Yes, it can. Do not take a 5/12 even if that's what the agent says they have to offer you, because it can screw you out of better deals later on. 2...

2 years. Before that, you're considered a winback

Well, I can't speak for the AT&T wing of the company, but asking for customer loyalty group gets you to the states for DirecTV.

Yes, that 25$ credit runs independently of any other rebates or promotions you get. You can get a winback offer if you were under contract after the point of disconnection, yes. Just as an advisement to everyone who is reading this thread, though.. offers are going to vary from account to...

Yep. I see some people that will literally disconnect every year for the summer when they're not watching TV knowing damn well they'll get a winback offer.

Sounds like he got what's called a winback offer. For customers that are worth the trouble, they'll throw everything but the kitchen sink at you to bring you back if you actually disconnect. Winback offers are actually better, usually, than actual retention offers. Makes no sense to me, but...

I haven't heard anything on 5G, but it would make sense if they have the bandwidth to make it happen. Someone mentioned the HS17 earlier... I've yet to sell a single one of them. Personally, I hate the client/server system. If it was anything like when the genie launched, though, they'll...

I've heard about a possible rebranding, but it's just rumor and speculation. I'm not sure why they would launch a new streaming service under the DirecTV name, though, if that's the end game.

I think they'll keep u-verse around in some capacity for a while, simply because of MDU's and the like. They really, really , wanted that bandwith freed up, though, which is why they started pushing people toward the DirecTV.

2 years tends to be the sweet spot for calling for a retention offer. Make sure you're out of contract, because if you aren't, you'll be lucky to get anything at all. The real trick people don't get is that you can't overtap the well. If you get a promotion, take it, and when it expires, wait...

I work in retentions for DirecTV.. ask me anything you want to know

Full disclosure: I'm on my notice with the company, so I'm no longer worried about social media policies or anything like that. Anything you want to know, if I know it, I'll tell you. That being said, I'm leaving on decent terms, so I'm not looking to bury anyone out of spite, either.
