I know my TV will display a 480i signal (NTSC) or 576i (PAL). I guess I'll have to play around with it when my dish arrives.

As I wait for my dish to arrive, I've been looking at some of the settings of my Pansat box. I noticed that it can output both NTSC and PAL. Are there any PAL Ku-band channels? My TV displays PAL fairly well. If set the output to Auto will it pass the PAL channels to my TV unchanged?

Thanks everyone! I finally got time to flash the box. It seems to be working now (albeit without a dish). I'm hoping to order a 36" dish this week. I'm looking into a Fortec.:)

I can use the 2700a software on the 2500a? Is the only difference between the two the software?

Oh! It all makes sense. I didn't realize the hackers were just changing the firmware (I thought they were physically modifying it). The fellow was nice enough to include a null modem cable :rolleyes:. When I went to the Pansat site the link appears to be dead:(...

Thanks Iceberg, from what I've gathered, the last satellite it was pointed at was Echostar's. The channel list included channels that definitely aren't FTA. Does that mean I bought it from a pirate :)?
