    Starchoice Dish to get E*

An adapter called a Flexi-block will work. I use one with a *C 75 cm elliptical dish. It takes some patience to set it up but it does work well. It should be possible to build a similar adapter.

    Bigger Dish for Expressvu

FWIW, DirecTV dual DBS LNBs work with EV/Dish legacy gear. They need to be simple LNBs, not the twin/multiple LNBs with built in switches. This should ease the mounting issues with FTA dishes. One very good solution is the Channel Master GainMaster. It handles up to three LNBs at 9 degree...

There is a firmware list here. (It's a little out of date.) BEV's technical web site is here.

    9-day Guide on BEV PVR's

On second thought... Maybe it was meant for the 5200 PVR. Either way, someone at EV messed up.

    9-day Guide on BEV PVR's

I am aware of that. Just reporting a rumor. There are other reports of 9 day guides showing up on non-PVR receivers. Don't know why or how. I can report, from personal experience, that the 9 day guide is available on 9200s but 'All' timers don't work for some. That has been verified by others.

    Canadian Satellite Services Flag

Shouldn't there be a Canadian flag next to the 'Canadian Satellite Services' forum?:D

Crossing the border with newly purchased equipment

I've only been asked for a driver's license when when buying a BEV receiver... but a Georgia license will kill the deal too. You will need a Canadian billing address. *C is the best bet. *C reception is better in the southern US and *C is not as uptight about southern subscribers. Mail order a...

Bigger dish to see 3 satellites ?

72.5 was a Canadian slot since it was allocated. It is 'on loan' to DirecTV since no Canadian BDU thought they needed it until 2009. BEV needs it now but doesn't have a bird for that slot for another 2 years. A little bad planning on the part of BEV, maybe?

    Bell 9200

I would wait. The MPEG4 replacements for the 9200 and 6100 are less than 6 months away. (BEV says Q4 2007 for the 9200.) Full switchover to MPEG4 may be 2 years away but new channels and some premium channels could go MPEG4 before then.

    9-day Guide on BEV PVR's

Rumor is that the 9 day guide was meant for the 3200 models only but someone messed up and made it available to all receivers. All I can say is it's a bit of a fiasco for some 9200 owners. A number of people (myself included) have almost total failure of 'All' and 'New' program timers. I've had...

    Which to choose

From a hardware point of view, BEV's receivers will be out of date in 6 months and totally obsolete in 2 years. *C has already upgraded their hardware. Each service has good and bad points but *C tends to be more friendly to 'out of province' customers. BEV readily cuts off questionable...
