Well my plan fell through. I had talked to a CSR last week who said I was no longer under contract but when I chatted yesterday with a rep to tell them I wanted to cancel and see what the retention department would offer, the first lady said I wasn't under contract (2nd person to tell me this)...

I too am thinking about switching. I have one question, seven years ago when i had direct the first dvr i had could only fast forward and rewind but skip ahead like dish (skip ahead so many seconds instantly) , has that changed?

No ehd so worries there. Right now I can get the Genie for free and that will cover the same TVs I am with the hopper, the main TV and 3 other rooms plus Ill get 2 extra tuners over the Hopper. I don't use PTAT so that doesn't really matter to me.

Called Dish again and got someone actually willing to contact the engineers. They showed me how to get the Sling ID and password from the receiver. (Hitting Menu twice on the remote). They then had me log into www.slingbox.com and add the receiver that way. After adding it, everything worked...

I've got the login and everything working but it still tells me there are no slings attached to my account. Dish is absolutely no help.

Is there anyway I can figure out which if any spotbeams I am under being at the 31533 zip code? With all of the changes of locals being put on spotbeams, Im trying to figure out where I need to move to.

Im a little confused. I live in GA but according to the clickable link for the Atlanta spotbeam, I am no where near in range but I have not lost the locals. I am on 110, 119, 129. Any ideas? Just did a check and shows my signal on transponder 4 as 12.
