    Dish Network DVR Poll

I don't know what I'd do if I had no access to a DVR through Dish. Have been with them since the start; but in recent years I am very seldom home to watch shows while they are actually broadcasting. The vast majority of my TV viewing is via the DVR. If I had no option through Dish, I might...

Statement from DISH - Not Getting the New HD?

On the flip side, my installer seemed to know exactly what was going on and was all set to do what needed to be done when he got here. Same holds true of the CSR I chatted with on-line to set-up the installation. No problems and no complaints here - Just the luck of the draw, I guess..... :p

Can you get the new HD from DISH?

True... Of course, with Dish it's *always* been, "Nothing's gonna happen until it actually happens.", and they usually don't tip their hand on any thoughts or plans they may have. This latest move with the 9 new HD channels is a classic example - Who saw it coming and in the way it did? That...

Can you get the new HD from DISH?

I agree, and that's what I indicated in a post the other day - Have only 2 US arcs to have to worry about, either Western or Eastern, and manage satellites & programming accordingly.

Must be a pretty tight fit, because the Eastern Arc of 61.5/72.7/77 are close to each other and picked-up with one dish.....

    Billing question

WOW.... *pats Vomaul on the back* ;) I own everything (...no loans); but in this day age would find it very difficult to go without credit cards. Or at least a debit card.....

That's what Eastern Arc does - All HD (when available) and the MP4 encoding. I would imagine that is the wave of the future, as everything moves to HD.... ;)

    Billing question

Not sure(...most places I deal with would just leave it as a credit on the account); but financially speaking, you're much better off paying off bills that you're paying interest on, like credit cards & loans, then a monthly bill that's essentially not costing you anything to pay. ;)

Can you get the new HD from DISH?

Old news..... All a part of the joys of ever changing & emerging technology, *especially* when it comes to satellite based technologies.

Mine is installed on the side of the house, just below the roof line. Has the actual dish mount, plus two braces that go off to the side, kind of like a tripod.

Or a cut back to two properly aimed dishes.... ;) Not really sure what packages you're getting now and what would be covered by the Western Arc. In my case, I had 2 dishes aimed at 110/119/61.5 and now have one aimed at the Eastern Arc & getting everything. :D

Statement from DISH - Not Getting the New HD?

I was just thinking about this post - Did you check all of the channels in the Guide? When I got switched to the Eastern Arc, I realized a couple of days later that some of my channel numbers had changed - Off the top of my head, some that I'd been tuning to in the 800x range were now in the...

Statement from DISH - Not Getting the New HD?

I would think the Western Arc, which would add 129, would cover it; but am not sure.

    HIGHER PRICES COMING PEOPLE

Of course, then the main question would be, is Dish even geared-up, both financially & technically, to handle every subscriber picking & choosing individual channels like that. I really doubt it, and I think it would be an absolute nightmare to try to manage. It's easy to say, "Just do it!"...

    HIGHER PRICES COMING PEOPLE

A la carte is fine if you only want a couple of channels; but almost without fail, package deals are always cheaper than buying individual items, and I don't care if you're talking channels on Dish, options on a vehicle, food at a restaurant or whatever. And, of course, the ultimate question...
