CW 17 in Jacksonville (WCWJ) is now in HD for DirecTV. That gives FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, CW in HD. Only PBS and a couple of local independent stations left.

This is the main reason I did switch from DISH. I was promised in 2006 for local HD, that never happened. I moved to D* a few months back and haven't regretted it.

I left Dish because of all of the empty promises, including the 2 year old promise of having lilHD for the JAX DMA. My cancellation fee was aived due to this, and I had just renewed to get the 722 2 months before hand. I know I am not the only one, this decision they had to price monger...

Once Lifetime and LMN are shown in HD on DirecTV, my wife would be at her happiest for tv viewing. Me, having just switched back to DirecTV and being on Dish, I am content with the current line up, but if I had to request: Travel and the rest of the available movie sub channels.

The markets not listed for April or May in the last Charlie Chat had a "Coming Soon", no timeline.

It all depends upon which CSR you get. I just canceled my service with DISH. Had my cancellation fee waived because I have been led on since 2006 about LIL HD. Some will work with you, others will not. Some just don't care.

4 hours too late for me Charlie. DirecTV was installed this morning and running by noon. Already like the HR21's ability to hide the SD Channel if the HD Channel is mapped. (never could get favorites or adult guard to work right on blocking those channels).
