we got the S221 update today, after calling to get a new hopper yesterday since the whole system kept freezing up multiple times a day. will see if the new one has the update already on it

+10 when do we get it? Anyone know if you can remotely reboot the hopper if you have a sling box? I thought I saw something about a 'reboot' link online..

BTW this seems to have been fixed since we are now on S217 and have 90 timers :)

It sounds like a red button reboot may do something different than a power cable unplug.. Has anyone had better stability by hard rebooting the hopper every night with a power timer? I've been considering this but think I would have to do it on the Joey also...

S212 seemed to be fairly stable with reboot only one a week.. S213... unhappy wife, unhappy life! Joey not working.. pixelation.. On Demand stopped working.. pfft.

Interesting info! As far as PPV being nested, we usually see the movies listed and then go rent them at Blockbuster, win-win for Dish :)

I doubt this will be added to any other channels or recordings since they most likely have a deal with ABC/CBS/FOX/NBC for recording PTAT in the first place and getting more people to watch them. Plus it will cause an uproar with the advertising department at most networks. I'm curious to see...

FYI if you haven't already discovered this or read the news, S211 released today adds a hopper commercial-skip feature to prime-time anytime. It automatically skips the commercials without even fast forwarding. My wife loves it. Although it doesn't seem to apply until 1AM the next day. DISH...

So nobody has tried the VPN connection, probably because it would need to be on the same network subnet since there is no configuration for host IP? May need to run some packet tests and verify it is performing a broadcast to find the Hopper. However it is possible to rebroadcast discovery...
